Dr. Shih participating in the dental forensics identification of a deceased subject found in a state of extreme decomposition, after a welfare check was requested by concerned family members. We resected the jaws, took radiographs, charted the teeth, and compared them to xrays obtained from a local dental office. A positive ID was established after comparing the images we took with those from the dental office.

All identifying markers have been digitally blurred out to protect the privacy and confidentiality of all parties involved.

We examined the jaws and teeth, took radiographs and measurements, and compared the images with radiographs obtained from a local dental office. A positive ID was established and the next of kin notified.
