🎁 December is Safe Toys and Gifts Month
Keeping our kids healthy starts with the choices we make long before playtime begins. This season, we’re reminding families to choose toys that support learning, fun, and most importantly, safety.
👶 Ages 0–3
Avoid small parts, button batteries, magnets, and anything that could break into sharp pieces. Look for sturdy, non-toxic materials and simple designs that encourage safe exploration.
👦 Ages 3–5
Check labels for age appropriateness and avoid toys with tiny detachable pieces. Opt for toys that build coordination and imagination, like blocks, books, and art supplies designed for early childhood.
🧒 Ages 6–12
Sports equipment should always come with protective gear. For electronics, make sure battery compartments are secure. Encourage supervised use of craft kits, STEM sets, and beginner tools.
🎮 Teens
Choose tech devices from trusted brands and review online safety settings together. For sports equipment, ensure helmets and pads fit correctly.
✔ Tips for All Ages
• Look for the ASTM or “Meets Safety Standards” label
• Avoid toys with strong magnets, loose batteries, or choking hazards
• Inspect toys for sharp edges and loose parts
• Keep older kids’ toys out of reach of younger siblings
• Always supervise play when trying out something new
