Happy Holidays!

Dear valued customers,

We hope you are doing well. We would like to share an important update about our business. Due to changes in the economy and the increasing demands of managing two locations, we have made the difficult decision to close our original Shoreline location.

******

Please note that there have been some Google map direction navigation issues as a result of the transition to our new location. Due to the functionality of Google, some of the recent changes will take time to update properly. We apologize and ask for your patience during this time.

******

Our entire team will be moving to our Mountlake Terrace location (22001 66th Ave W Ste D). This location is already fully up and running so you don't have to wait to visit us here during the transition. Starting January 1, 2026, all appointments and bookings will take place exclusively at our Mountlake Terrace location.

Our Mountlake Terrace space is more spacious, comfortable, and professionally designed, and we believe it will allow us to provide an even better experience for everyone. We truly hope you will continue to support us during this transition.

As the year comes to an end, we want to wish all of you a wonderful holiday season. Next year will be a fresh start for us, and we look forward to welcoming you into our improved space and continuing to provide the care and service you deserve.
For more information regarding our new location, please visit us at www.theorybodyworks.com.

Thank you for your understanding, trust, and loyalty.
Warm regards,

Theory Wellness and Bodyworks

Wondering if you should request a reservation for a Swedish massage? Check out some of the benefits below to learn why a Swedish massage might be a great choice for you.
1. Pain management
2. Increased blood circulation
3. Rehabilitation for muscle injuries
4. Increased flexibility
5. Reduced stress
6. Improved immune system

Tension Headache Massage

Tension headache: This type of headache can be caused by muscle spasms, trigger points, TMJ dysfunction, neck alignment, stress, hormonal/chemical changes, dehydration, and stress/anxiety. Tension headaches can show up as a tightness or constricting feeling in the head, as pain in the head or referred pain in the neck, shoulders, and arms, as muscle spasms/pain, as pain in the jaw, or as pain around the temple and behind the eyes. Tension headaches usually do not come with other sensitivities, such as sensitivity to light and sound or nausea.

Migraine: This type of headache is still somewhat mysterious. They are believed to be caused by neck alignment, chemical/hormonal changes, neurological problems, vascular problems, environmental irritants, food sensitivities, and/or blood sugar regulation. Migraines can be very severe and can last up to several days. These headaches do usually come with some sensitivities, such as sensitivity to light, sound, and nausea/vomiting.
Both tension headaches and migraines have been effectively treated by massage therapy. Not only can massage help relieve headache pain, but it can also help to prevent headaches from occurring.

Neck & Shoulder Massage

Pain relief is not the only benefit of neck and shoulder massage. Regular neck and shoulder massage helps keep your joints limber, reducing your chance of pulling muscles around your neck and shoulders. It improves your flexibility and posture, increases your range of motion, lowers blood pressure and heart rate, relieves stress, encourages relaxation, and supports a healthy mindset.

Prenatal Massage

Your muscles will certainly appreciate a massage when they've been carrying around an extra load. Plus, the weight of your growing baby can cause leg muscles to tense and swell. This inflames nearby nerves and can lead to sciatic nerve pain. Applying mild pressure to your muscle groups helps reduce swelling by stimulating blood flow throughout your body.

Couple Massage

Studies have shown that massages stimulate the release of many hormones which boost feelings of intimacy and affection. Most notably, touch increases oxytocin (which is known to play a role in social bonding, sexual reproduction, childbirth, and the period after childbirth), as well as serotonin and dopamine.

Swedish Massage

Swedish massage is the most common and best known type of massage in the West. If it's your first time or you don't get massage often, Swedish massage is the best place to start. The Swedish body massage is the combination of many different techniques rolled into one session. During this therapy session the therapist will work with the soft tissues and muscles in the body to help restore balance and health. The end result will relax all of the muscles in your body and help relieve any pain or tension that may exist.

A Swedish body massage is the perfect way for anyone who is overworked and stressed out to relax their body and mind. By relieving muscle tension, Swedish therapy can be both relaxing and energizing. It may even help after an injury.

Hot Stone Massage

During a hot stone massage, the techniques of a regular massage are applied. However, the therapist also works with hot stones that are placed on specific parts of the body.

The stones are smooth and flat and usually made of the volcanic rock type called basalt. These particular stones are chosen because they retain heat.

The stones used for a hot stone massage are placed in hot water to warm up before being applied. They are then placed onto specific areas of the body.

Some massage therapists hold the stones in their hands and use them to massage with. This allows the therapist to get deeper into the muscles without more pressure, helping their client to relax yet further.

This type of hot stone therapeutic treatment is thought to have originated in China almost 2,000 years ago. Since then, the technique of using stones for healing has been used in many different cultures, including the Americas, Africa, Egypt, and India.
