Our residents took an incredible Rendever virtual travel adventure to Nova Scotia, exploring its beautiful coastline before jetting off (virtually!) to Rome and Santorini. From historic landmarks to stunning island views, it felt like a world tour from the comfort of home. 🌍✈️

A highlight of the day was hearing John share his own travel stories—he once owned a travel agency and has visited nearly every continent!

In honor of Indigenous Peoples’ Day, Mountlake Terrace Plaza residents visited the Hibulb Cultural Center and Natural History Preserve at the Tulalip Reservation. We learned about the Snohomish, Snoqualmie, and Skykomish tribes, their traditions, and the lasting impact of the 1855 Treaty of Point Elliott.

From handwoven cedar baskets to the stories of the Salmon People, it was an inspiring and educational experience that deepened our appreciation for the Coast Salish people and their enduring heritage. 🙌

Our Oktoberfest celebration was filled with cheerful spirit, lively German folk songs and plenty of smiles!

Residents tapped their feet, clapped along, and enjoyed the festive tunes that brought a touch of Bavaria to our community. Prost to good music, good company,and joyful memories!

Ladies Night with Mavis was such a joy! Our wonderful host, Mavis Johnson, gathered 12 lovely ladies for an evening full of laughter, great food, and friendship.

After saying grace, everyone shared a delicious meal, chatted about shared interests, and ended the night with a movie—made extra special when Mavis’s granddaughter appeared in one of the scenes! A truly heartwarming night spent together. 💕

Teamwork and marshmallows made for a fun twist on our staff meeting at Mountlake Terrace Plaza! 🍡 Our Executive Director, Nikki Bakken, challenged the team to build the tallest tower using only marshmallows and toothpicks.

There was plenty of laughter, creativity, and friendly competition—and a few towers that didn’t quite make it! It was a sweet reminder that teamwork can be both fun and rewarding.

Community Connections at Mountlake Terrace Plaza brought thoughtful discussion and engagement to the community.

Hosted by our Resident Council members, the event welcomed guest speakers Sam Doyle, candidate for Mountlake Terrace Council, and Thom Garrard, candidate for the School Board Committee, along with volunteer Sarah. Residents asked great questions and learned more about each candidate’s goals and ideas for the future of Mountlake Terrace.

As part of our Ageless Exploration theme, residents kicked off October with a fun Halloween card-making session! 🎃

Using colorful papers, stickers, and plenty of creativity, they made festive cards to send to their grandchildren. It was a joyful mix of laughter, imagination, and hands-on fun—plus a great way to keep those fine motor skills active! A big thank-you to Marilyn McAleer for leading this creative and heartwarming activity. 💛
