This week, Dr. Jerry Dreessen provides an important update on Oklahoma HB 3239 and what it means for practitioners providing PEMF sessions for animals.
As HB 3239 advanced through the legislative process, the PEMF certification pathway for animal sessions was removed, leaving both practitioners and animal owners in a regulatory gray area.
Without clear language, qualified non-veterinary PEMF providers could potentially be treated as operating within the veterinary scope, creating uncertainty for responsible practitioners who follow professional standards.
In this discussion, Dr. Jerry explains:
• What changed in HB 3239• Why the certification pathway matters• What could happen next in the legislative process• What practitioners and supporters can do right now
The goal is simple: restore clear standards and accountability.
We are asking Oklahoma lawmakers to:
• Reinstate the PEMF certification pathway, and/or• Explicitly exclude PEMF from the definition of veterinary medicine for qualified, accountable non-veterinary providers.
Oklahoma has an opportunity to establish a clear, practical standard that supports responsible practitioners, collaboration with veterinarians, and transparency for animal owners.
Action is needed before the March 26 legislative deadline.
