Playing sports keeps kids active and strong — and a sports physical helps keep them safe.

A pre-season physical is an important way to catch potential health concerns early and make sure your child is ready to play. It’s one more way we partner with you to support their health on and off the field or court. Don’t forget to also ask us to complete any school forms this summer. Book your child’s visit now through MyChart or call 206-546-2421 during regular business hours (closed on some major holidays).

May is Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) Heritage Month, and Seattle Children’s researchers published new findings uncovering su***de risk disparities within Asian American youth and young adults.

The study, led Dr. Anthony L. Bui, MD, at Seattle Children’s Research Institute discovered that grouping all Asian Americans together when examining youth and young adult su***de rates overlooks how specific ethnic subgroups may have statistically higher rates of su***de and suicidal ideation than others.

ā€œFew public health studies currently divide Asian Americans into more specific ethnic categories.ā€ Bui said. ā€œThis research is one of the first attempts to understand how these rates differ across Asian ethnicities.ā€ Learn more.

Patient and Family Experience Week is a time to celebrate the vital role of exceptional care for patients and their families, and to honor the dedicated workforce committed to delivering these outstanding experiences.

Whether it was an environmental services team member who made your room feel more comfortable, a friendly face in the cafeteria or a nurse or therapist who offered just the right support—we’d love to hear your story.

Take a moment to share how they made you feel by visiting the Seattle Children’s App to help us recognize the incredible people who make care here so special.
