This time of year can feel like one big highlight reel.

Prom. Photos. Celebrations. Constant comparison.

But for some, it feels different.

Feeling invisible.
Feeling disconnected.
Feeling like they don’t quite fit in anywhere.

What can look like “just stress” or “teen drama” may actually be something deeper. Social anxiety, withdrawal, or feeling detached from reality can be early signs that a young person is struggling.

If you’re a parent, caregiver, or friend noticing changes, trust that instinct. You don’t have to wait for things to get worse to start paying attention.

CSG’s EPIC program helps teens and young adults navigate these moments and build the support they need to move forward.

Start with understanding.
Start with a conversation.

Start with CSG.

Stress is a word we hear a lot. "I'm stressed." "That's stressful." "Don't stress me out." But what does stress actually look like?

Sometimes it looks like anxiety or feeling overwhelmed.

Sometimes it looks like being irritable, exhausted, or not sleeping well.

Sometimes it looks like pulling away from friends, struggling to focus, or just not feeling like yourself.

The truth is, stress doesn’t always show up in a way we expect. And it often doesn't show up the exact same way every time.

Stress Awareness Month, is a good reminder to check in with yourself and the people around you. If someone seems different, more tired, quieter, or more overwhelmed than usual, it might be a sign they’re dealing with more than they’re saying. It's ok to notice and it's even better to check in.

A simple “Are you okay?” can go a long way.

Stress is a normal part of life, but the more we remind one another that it's never something you have to handle alone, the better we can all be at managing it, or getting the help we need to work through it.

Intensive Outpatient Programs, or "IOPs", are becoming a more common mental health treatment. They offer more support than weekly therapy, without hospitalization. Meaning individuals can receive the care they need while staying connected to their everyday lives.

In our latest post, we chat with Lori Humbert, our Director of Partial Hospital and DBT Programs, who is answering some of our most frequently asked questions.

Lori breaks down:
✔ What an IOP is
✔ Who it’s for
✔ What happens during treatment
✔ How to know if it might be right for you or a loved one

If you’ve been feeling overwhelmed or unsure what level of care makes sense, this is a helpful place to start.

When we talk about health at CSG, we include the wellbeing of your whole self: body, mind, and the connections that hold you together.

This World Health Day, we're talking about what it really means to be well. For so many people, that journey includes navigating a mental health condition, supporting a loved one who is, or simply trying to keep up with the weight of everyday life.

You're not alone in that.

At CSG, we walk alongside individuals and families through some of life's most challenging moments. Whether that looks like counseling and psychiatric care, support for teens and young adults showing early signs of psychosis through our EPIC program, intensive outpatient treatment, or home and community-based services for those living with intellectual and developmental disabilities, we meet people where they are and help them find a way forward.

Because getting well isn't a straight line. It's showing up, asking for help, and having the right support around you when you do.

This World Health Day and every day, we want you to know: help is here. For your mind. For your family. For your community. 💚

Today is World Autism Awareness Day 🧩

It's not only a day to build understanding, acceptance, and inclusion in our communities, it's also an opportunity to celebrate our differences.

Autism is not something that needs to be “fixed" – it’s something to be understood. Many individuals with autism experience the world differently, whether it's communication styles, sensory experiences, routines, or social interactions. With the right supports and opportunities, individuals with autism can live meaningful, independent, and connected lives.

Awareness is important, but acceptance and belonging are what truly make the difference. That can look like: being patient with communication, creating inclusive workplaces and community spaces, supporting families and caregivers, and recognizing the strengths and abilities of every individual.

At CSG, we are proud to support individuals with autism and their families through services, programs, and community partnerships that help people live, work, and participate fully in their communities.

Understanding leads to acceptance. Acceptance leads to inclusion. And inclusion builds stronger communities for everyone.

Last week, CSG joined Rehabilitation & Community Providers Association for Capitol Day in Harrisburg. This important gathering brings together human service providers and legislators to discuss the issues impacting services, funding, and the communities we serve across Pennsylvania.

But what does Capitol Day really mean for the people we serve?

It’s an opportunity to make sure the voices of our employees, our programs, and our communities are heard where decisions are made.

In this video, Jen McLaughlin, Director of Mental Health Services, and Jen Cutshall, Senior Program Director of MH Dauphin Residentials, both share what Capitol Day is all about and why these conversations with legislators matter.

From workforce challenges to funding and access to care, advocacy plays a critical role in shaping the future of mental health and IDD services.

In mental health and IDD services, we talk a lot about caring for others. But helping professionals experience stress and burnout, too. Emotional labor is real. So is compassion fatigue.

That’s why workplace well-being is more than a perk at CSG. It’s a pillar.

Through leadership development programs, certification and licensure opportunities, workforce training, our employee assistance program and ongoing conversations about mental health, we work to create an environment where people feel valued, not just productive.

When organizations invest in workforce mental health, everyone benefits:
✔ Employees feel supported
✔ Retention improves
✔ Quality of care increases
✔ Communities are stronger

Workplace wellness isn’t just a human resources initiative. It’s a community impact strategy.

For individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, building independence goes beyond programs. It’s built in everyday places: neighborhoods, workplaces, gyms, coffee shops, churches, and parks.

A supportive community can change everything when it comes to inclusion. Even the smallest actions matter. Things like:

💚 Saying hello and being patient in conversations
💚 Asking for participation instead of assuming someone wouldn’t be interested
💚 Speaking directly to the person, not just the caregiver or staff
💚 Modeling kindness for children and others around you

Most people with developmental disabilities want the same things anyone else does - friendships, purpose, routine, and the chance to contribute.

At CSG, we work every day to help individuals build skills and confidence so they can live full lives in the community. But real inclusion happens when communities meet people halfway.

When we create spaces where everyone belongs, the whole community benefits.

We're always thrilled to celebrate International Women’s Day, and all of the incredible women who make CSG what it is every day.

Across our programs and offices, women serve as direct support staff, clinicians, supervisors, administrators, and leaders. They guide teams, mentor new employees, support families, and help individuals in our services navigate some of life’s most difficult moments.

Thank you to all of the women of CSG for your compassion, professionalism, and the example you set for the next generation. And a special thanks to our President & CEO, Susan Blue, for her strong leadership!

Making a positive impact doesn’t happen in one big moment. It happens in thousands of small decisions, every day.

How we treat employees.
How we support families.
How we partner with communities.
How we hold ourselves accountable for the care we provide.

That’s why CSG chooses to be a Certified B Corporation™.

B Corp™ certification means we measure performance not only by financial results, but by how we care for people and the communities we serve. It requires ongoing evaluation, transparency, and a commitment to keep improving. Not just once, but year after year.

To us, the B represents something simple: doing good work, and doing the work the right way.

"We’re proud to stand alongside thousands of organizations around the world working toward a better way of doing business. Especially as one that puts people at the center." - Bruce Cohen, CSG VP of Innovation & Strategy
