🌟 Employee Spotlight: Susan Hermes 🌟
Meet Susan Hermes, our Director of Central Supply and Environmental Services! Susan has led both departments for the past three years, keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes every single day.
Her favorite time of day? Mornings. That’s when the hospital is buzzing and new challenges are waiting to be solved — something she tackles with energy and determination.
Susan is especially proud of reorganizing Central Supply and clearing out old equipment to make better use of space. Her improvements have made a lasting difference in efficiency and workflow.
When she’s not at MMH, you might catch her watching old cartoons or The Three Stooges on a Saturday morning — a favorite throwback to her childhood. On a free day, she enjoys working outside in her yard or garden and reading a good (and sometimes scary!) book.
What she loves most about her coworkers? “We all help and support one another.”
Susan believes MMH plays a vital role in the community by conveying a sense of security, trust, and faith. Personally, she says, “I look forward to work knowing that, in a small way, my contribution helps heal patients and strengthens the health of our community. It gives me a sense of satisfaction and purpose.”
If she could instantly learn any new skill, she’d love to play the piano — and we think she’d be great at it! 🎹

Lenzie joined our team in 2023 as a high school senior, starting out as a pharmacy clerk helping customers at the counter. Through hard work and dedication, she advanced to a pharmacy tech in training—and now, she’s officially certified!

🌟 Employee Spotlight: Matt Smith 🌟
Meet Matt Smith, our Facilities Director & Safety Officer here at MMH!
Matt plays a critical role in making sure our hospital runs safely and efficiently every single day. From maintaining the facility to overseeing safety operations, his work keeps our patients, staff, and visitors protected and comfortable. He takes great pride in helping keep the facility in top shape so we can continue delivering the best care to our community.
One of Matt’s favorite parts of the day is sharing laughs with his coworkers. He enjoys the camaraderie of the team and the sense of family that comes with working at MMH. “MMH truly cares about everyone’s health and well-being,” he shared — and it’s clear he carries that same commitment in his work.
Outside of work, Matt has a few favorite pastimes that give a glimpse into who he is. Every day, he eats lunch with his wife, Jennifer Smith, who also serves as our Revenue Cycle Director — it’s a meaningful tradition they share. He loves watching old westerns and has seen every season of The Dukes of Hazzard. If he had a free day with no responsibilities, you’d probably find him out riding dirt bikes with friends.
For a fun twist, if Matt could instantly learn any skill, he’d choose one that many of us wish for — how to pick the winning lottery numbers! And when it comes to his go-to drink? “Definitely tea — unless it’s cold outside, then coffee.”
We’re grateful for Matt’s dedication, leadership, and sense of humor. He’s a key part of what makes MMH such a strong, caring place for our community. 💪💙

This Radiology Technologists Week, we proudly celebrate the outstanding team that keeps our Imaging Department running with excellence, compassion, and unwavering dedication.
Supporting that mission every day is Radiology Director, Michelle Bayer and lead full-time technologist, Chelsea Endres, whose skill, reliability, and patient-centered care play a vital role in the success of the department. They bring both technical expertise and a calm, confident presence that patients and coworkers deeply appreciate.
We also extend our heartfelt gratitude to our exceptional on-call weekend staff—
Klynton Walters, Corrie Marsch, Jenna Walterscheid, Mickey, and Jennifer Wolf. Their willingness to serve during evenings, weekends, and emergencies ensures that our patients always have access to high-quality imaging services when they need them most.
