Last weekend, I was able to attend The Climb, hosted by Muncie Maternal Health Coalition through Postpartum Support International, as a vendor and participant.

Proud to support the incredible work being done for perinatal mental health awareness in our community.

Had extra 'helpers,' as my kids tagged along - teaching the next generation the importance of supporting families from the start.

May is Women’s Health Month — and this is your reminder: you are worth taking care of. 💜

As a physical therapist serving women, I see firsthand how often women delay care—because we’re busy, tired, caring for others, or simply used to putting ourselves last.

And as a mom, I get it. Between the schedules, the mental load, and the “just push through it” mindset, self-care can easily slide to the bottom of the list.

But your health isn’t optional.
It’s essential.

✨ This month, let this be your nudge to:
✔ Schedule your yearly check-up
✔ Follow up on that nagging symptom
✔ Ask the questions you've been putting off
✔ Reconnect with your body and what it needs

Whether you're navigating postpartum, perimenopause, pelvic pain, or just want to feel stronger and more supported—you deserve care that empowers you.

You are not an afterthought. You are the foundation. And you are worth it. 💙

Had the amazing opportunity to present to early childhood professionals at the ✨️Early Childhood Professionals' Summit✨️

The attendees are working hard to best support the children they care for, including best practices for potty learning! It was so fun to talk with providers about supporting pelvic health from a young age!

CONFESSION: I'm obsessed with pelvic health and how it relates to a person as a whole. 🤩

While I love treating patients, I also LIVE for p*e and 💩 conversations, celebrating patient wins 💪, TMI conversations that are actually key for getting rid of symtpoms, and teaching anyone who will listen about how amazing the pelvic floor is 🤓.

🧠 ➡️ 💪Mind-body connection in action!

🧐 Did you know that psychological and emotional issues directly impact your pelvic floor health?

Stress, trauma, anxiety, and depression can contribute to pelvic floor dysfunction. Pelvic floor muscles contract in response to stress. This constant, often involuntary tightening can lead to issues with p*eing, pooping, in*******se, and/or pain.

Learning healthy stress management techniques, and possibly having a mental health therapist as part of your care team, can be just as important as doing the right pelvic floor exercises!

Tell me in the comments how you manage your stress! ⬇️

'My doctor told me to just do Kegels' 🤯

I hear this frequently, and it always makes me cringe. While Kegels can be helpful, they're not a one-size-fits-all solution. Here's why:

▪️Some pelvic floors are actually working too much and need relaxation, not strengthening
▪️Kegels done incorrectly can make symptoms worse
▪️Every body has different needs and different goals
▪️Being able to do lots of Kegels doesn't always translate to better function
▪️Sometimes the issue isn't strength at all!

Think of your pelvic floor like any other muscle group - you wouldn't tell everyone with knee pain to "just do squats," right?

✨️As a pelvic floor specialist, I perform a thorough evaluation to create a personalized treatment plan that addresses YOUR specific needs.

Ready to move beyond basic Kegels? Book an evaluation to learn what your body actually needs!
