For family caregivers, staying on top of preventive health is one of the most loving things you can do. March is Colon Cancer Awareness Month, and it's the perfect time to discuss colon health with your aging loved ones.

Colon cancer is highly preventable with screening, and risk increases with age. While our residents at Munday Nursing Center receive comprehensive care, we want to empower our entire community with knowledge.

For Caregivers:
✅ Know the Guidelines: Screening is typically recommended for adults 45 and older.
✅ Talk to the Doctor: Encourage your loved one to speak with their healthcare provider about their personal risk and screening options.
✅ Watch for Symptoms: Be aware of changes like persistent stomach pain, blood in the stool, or unexplained weight loss.

At Munday Nursing Center, we see every day how proactive health management leads to better outcomes. Your advocacy makes all the difference.

For older adults, managing diabetes is a key part of maintaining health, independence, and quality of life. Knowledge is the best tool we have.

Be aware of these common symptoms:
🔹 Frequent urination
🔹 Extreme thirst
🔹 Unexplained weight loss
🔹 Fatigue and blurred vision

Our dedicated staff is trained to help residents manage diabetes through personalized care, nutrition, and monitoring. We believe in proactive, compassionate support to ensure our residents live their healthiest lives.

For our families and community, use today as a reminder to check in on your loved ones and their health.

It's National Nutrition Month! Let's Talk About Senior Health.

Good nutrition is the foundation of a vibrant and healthy life, especially for our seniors. This month, we're celebrating with tips to help you or your loved ones thrive!

Top Senior Nutrition Tips:
✅ Prioritize Protein: Helps maintain muscle strength. Think eggs, lean meats, beans, and Greek yogurt.
✅ Focus on Fiber: Aids digestion and keeps you feeling full. Find it in whole grains, fruits, and vegetables.
✅ Stay Hydrated: Thirst can decrease with age. Keep a water bottle handy and sip throughout the day.
✅ Calcium & Vitamin D: Essential for bone health. Enjoy dairy, fortified juices, and leafy greens.
✅ Color Your Plate: Eat a rainbow of fruits and vegetables to get a wide range of vitamins and minerals.

At Munday Nursing Center, we see firsthand how a balanced diet contributes to our residents' well-being and happiness. Here's to a healthy, delicious month!

Protect Your Colon Health. Schedule Your Screening.
Early detection makes all the difference.

Colorectal cancer often develops without symptoms, which is why screening is so important. When detected early, it is highly treatable — and in many cases, preventable.

If you are 45 or older, or have a family history of colorectal cancer, talk with your primary care provider about your screening options. Preventive screenings are simple, effective, and typically covered by insurance.

Don’t wait for warning signs. Take a proactive step for your health and your future.
To schedule an appointment, call the Knox City Clinic at 940-657-3906 or the Munday Clinic at 940-422-5271.
