Brooks Funeral Home is honored to be assisting the family of Ava “Jane” Renee Lynn Woodcock and her infant daughter Neveah Marie Woodcock, passed away Tuesday, April 7, 2026 at University of Louisville Hospital. Ava was an employee of Walmart Super Center in Glasgow, KY. Ava was saved at Oak Grove Baptist Church when she was 13. She was a 2022 graduate of Hart County High School. She was a cheerleader at LeGrande Elementary.

She loved being a mom to her daughter Chloe. Her laughter was so contagious and would fill a room. Her text would always start with “Hey”, she loved animals with dreams of becoming a veterinarian, even going as far as “finding” a dog that she brought home, Dobby may still be a questionable situation. Holidays with family and friends were a great joy in her life. She was thoughtful, caring, kind, and she loved everyone and everything.

She is preceded in death by her grandmother, Sallie Froedge; great-grandparents, Howard Childress, David Rountree, Louis and Josephine Matthews, and Carl “Pap” Young.

She is survived by her daughter, Chloe Shay of Glasgow, KY; by her father and mother, Wesley and Beth Woodcock of Horse Cave, KY; her mother, Alisha Carter and her husband, Alex, of Glasgow, KY, and mother, Amanda Eversole and her husband, Joe of Glasgow, KY; five siblings, Charles Woodcock of Glasgow, KY, Gabriel Woodcock (Lyric) of Glasgow, KY, Heather Carter of Glasgow, KY, Gary B. Carter of Glasgow, KY, and A.J. Matthews of Glasgow, KY; her grandparents, Becky Pace and her husband Gary, Horse Cave, KY, Linda Davidson of Glasgow, KY; Timmy Matthews and his wife Sam of Glasgow, KY, and Jeff Childress of Cub Run, KY; great-grandparents, Patty Childress of Cub Run, KY, Carolyn Rountree of Northtown, KY, and Nancy Young of Glasgow, KY; a special aunt, Trisha Woodcock of Glasgow, KY and a special uncle, Charlie Woodcock and his wife Trina of Howard County, Iowa; several aunts, uncles, cousins and other extended family also survive.

James Henry Gardner, age 88 of Horse Cave, Ky, passed away Monday, April 6, 2026 at Signature Health Care of Hart County, with his loving wife at his side. He was a member of Horse Cave Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing and hunting arrowheads.

He was the son of the late Henry Paul Gardner and the late Whitman Rucker Gardner.

He is preceded in death by his brother, Thomas Gardner; his sisters, Betty Jean Estes and Pauline Hoover; nephew, Johnny Estes.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Mary Hazel Gardner; one daughter, Paula Rogers (Jesse) of Ledbetter, KY; one granddaughter, Jennifer Smith (Ben) of Louisville, KY; a great-granddaughter, Taylor Smith of Louisville, KY; a niece, Rose Ann Denton (Jimmy) of McEwen, TN; four nephews, Paul Curtis Estes of Elizabethtown, KY, Bobby Estes of Munfordville, KY, David Estes of Munfordville, KY, and Frank Hoover of Glasgow, KY.

Brooks Funeral Home is honored to be assisting the family of Danny Anthony Davis, age 76 of Glasgow, KY, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 5, 2026 at Glennview Health and Rehab. He was a member of Horse Cave First Baptist Church. He Graduated from Caverna High School in 1969, where he played basketball, baseball, and football. He retired from R.R. Donnelly's & Sons in 2005. He was a dedicated fan of the University of Louisville Cardinals. In his spare time he enjoyed watching wrestling, listening to music, and going to Walmart. He was the family “IT Guy” building and fixing computers, he was simple in his life, and was there to help anyone and would do anything his family needed.

He was the grandson of the late James Percell and Jossie Barlow Percell. He was the son of the late Catherine P. Davis and Herbert E. Davis.

He was preceded in death by one brother Joel L. Percell; two brothers-in-law, Andrew Marks and Johnny Leonard.

Survivors include his six children, Daniel M. Davis of Bowling Green, KY, Carla Nicole Davis of Raleigh, NC, Germaine Davis of Glasgow, KY, Shannon (Doug) Jury of Bowling Green, KY, Teatra Davis and Kaelan Davis of Glasgow, KY; two grandsons, Xavier Ingram and Cameron Castle; three great-grandchildren; Karcyn, Kyler and Averi Ingram; five sisters, Jacqueline J. Davis of Glasgow, KY, Ruth Carol Marks of Nashville, TN, Beverly Ann Perry (Clay) of Munfordville, KY, Meshellia K. Leonard of Garner, NC, Leslie A. Schuschke (Dale) of Louisville, KY; one brother, Lislie Neal Percell of Horse Cave, KY; several nieces/great-nieces, nephews/great-nephews, and cousins also survive.

In Loving Memory Of...

Sean Dustin Fowler, 39, of Munfordville, Kentucky, passed away on April 3, 2026. He was born on October 27, 1986, on his mother’s birthday, in Glasgow, Kentucky, to parents Clifford and Debbie Fowler. He was a member of Munfordville Baptist Church.

Sean was a loving son to his parents, residing with them the last several months of his life. Besides being survived by his parents, Sean also is survived by two brothers: Ryan (Ryan) Fowler,Bowling Green, Kentucky, and Patrick (Chelsea) Fowler, Louisville, Kentucky. He leaves behind four precious nieces and one sweet nephew—Lila, Nora, Julia, Elliott, and Jack Fowler. He shared a very special bond with cousins Michael (Jolly), Vickie, and Camille Spradlin—his “Lego buddy.” He also shared a special bond with Barry and Jane Ann Tharp. Aunts, uncles, cousins, work colleagues, and friends also survive him. His maternal grandparents, Linard and MaeDell Branstetter of Three Springs, Kentucky; his paternal grandparents, Clifford and Betty Fowler of Parma Heights, Ohio, preceded him in death, as well as his Uncle Tommy Branstetter of Three Springs, Kentucky.

Sean had traveled and gained experience in many areas and locations throughout his short life. Sean grew up in Hart County, and he was a 2005 Hart County High School graduate earning the Commonwealth Diploma and a Kentucky Governor’s Scholar position during the summer of 2004. He was a member of The United States Air Force, earning The Air Force Achievement Medal for outstanding achievement in Bagram, Afghanistan. Airman Sean Fowler received the Honor Graduate Ribbon in basic training, San Antonio, Texas, on September 2006. The 445th Maintenance Squadron recognized Airman Fowler as a “Sharp Troop” for displaying outstanding military appearance and epitomizing the core values of The United States Air Force. In addition, he was awarded the Non Article 5 NATO Medal for service with NATO. He completed his service with The Air Force as Staff Sergeant.

He was a 2015 Minnesota State College—Southeast Technical honor graduate in violin repair. He then began to work as a Luthier for Christophe Landon Rare Violins and for Lukas Wronski Violins in New York City. He became a part owner of Brooklyn Violin Company in 2022. He received a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Composition from City University New York—Brooklyn School of Music. Sean was proficient in several instruments including the piano, acoustic and electric guitars, banjo, and percussion instruments. He also enjoyed playing and singing hymns and other music with his mother.

During the last eight months, Sean has been an employee at Dart Container Corporation, Horse Cave, Kentucky. While back home, he enjoyed woodworking, gardening, playing chess, and helping others as he saw needs.

A ceremony to honor Sean’s life will be held at Brooks Funeral Home in Munfordville, KY on Wednesday, April 8, at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 7, from 4:00—8:00 p.m. and again on Wednesday, April 8, from 9:00—11:00 a.m. with burial in Cosby Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Gideons International or to Hart County Schools—Green River College and Career Academy. He was extremely proud that a trade school existed for our county’s students.

Mary Zelma Self, age 92 of Munfordville, KY passed away Thursday, April 2, 2026 at Signature Health Care of Hart County. She was a member of Munfordville Church of God. She was a homemaker who loved her family. She enjoyed sewing and quilting. She was a wonderful wife, loving mother, and a caring mamaw.

She is the daughter of the late Lloyd Carroll and the late Lilian Newton Carroll.

Mrs. Self is preceded in death by her husband, Glenual T. Self on February 20, 2001; her son, Glenual Roy Self; a son-in-law, Donnie Middleton; also by 7 siblings.

She is survived by her four children, Morris Ray Self (Kathy), Horse Cave, KY, Lisa Gail Middleton, Cave City, KY, Marilyn Gay Terry (Buddy King), Munfordville, KY, and Marvin Thomas Self (Connie), Horse Cave, KY; nine grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 19 great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Evelene Miller; three brothers, Charles Carroll, Wayne Carroll, and James Carroll (Sharon); many nieces, nephews, and other extended family also survive.

He was a member of Woodsonville Baptist Church where he was a Deacon, former chairman of the Deacon Board, Sunday School Superintendent, and past treasurer. He was a lifelong farmer and retired from Eaton as a machine operator.

He was the son of the late Leroy Rice and the late Bessie Whitlow Rice.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Rogenia Rice; three brothers, Roy Rice Jr., Eddie Joe Rice, and Johnny Rice.
