Carole F. Ennis Thornton, age 86 of Munfordville, KY passed away Friday, November 21, 2025 at her home. She was a member of Owens Chapel Baptist Church where she was a member of the choir and the missionary society, and a retired beautician. She was a receptionist for Experience Work. She loved being in church and being an Usher, she devoted 65 years to her service. She was an Emeritus President for the Liberty District Usher Unit, she was also an usher instructor for 22 different churches. She was an avid collector of angel figurines and Christmas village houses.

She is the daughter of the late Lee Hausley and the late Ada Mae Ennis.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Jewell B. Thornton; two sons, Rondal and Jeffery Thornton; two daughters, Darlene Thornton and Vivian Thornton; two sisters, Gayle Fisher and Charlestine Ennis; her grandson, Brandon Thornton; by one daughter-in-law, Carrie Thornton; one son-in-law, Wesley Buntyn

She is survived by her two sons, Steve Thornton, Munfordville, KY, Timothy Thornton (Linda), Austin, TX; two daughters, Carolyn Sue Buntyn, Munfordville, KY, Jacqueline Jewell, Louisville, KY; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; three brothers, Dwyane Hausley (Barbara), Lexington, KY, Gene Hausley (Mary), Lexington, KY, Dendress Ennis, Cave City, KY.

The family will welcome friends from 10:00 AM- 1:00 PM CT on Wednesday, November 26, 2025 at Owens Chapel Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM CT on Wednesday, November 26, 2025 at Owens Chapel Baptist Church with Dr. E.A. Duke officiating. Burial will follow at Woodsonville Memorial Gardens.

Mary Elizabeth Pokley, age 101 of Munfordville, KY passed away Friday, November 14, 2025 at Shanti Niketan Hospice Home.

She is the daughter of the late McKinley and Martha Tidwell, Dickson, TN.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Alex Norman Pokley; five brothers Lloyd, Oda, Ervin, Duel and JC Tidwell; and one sister Zella Lampley.

She is survived by her sister Dixie Tidwell Brown, Munfordville, KY and one brother Snow Tidwell, Dickson, TN several nephews and niece, and a special caregiver, Kathy Byler.

Mary was a member of Munfordville Baptist Church and active as the Munfordville Preschool Assistant; WMU Treasurer; VBS Leader, Team Kid Volunteer, Prayer Warrior; and participated in the Operation Christmas child by packing boxes and crocheting house slippers. Mary also was an original Rosie the Rivetor, leaving home in Tennessee at the age of 18 going to Michigan to build B17 bombers.

The family will welcome friends from 2:00- 7:00 PM CT on Sunday, November 16, 2025 and again from 8:00- 11:00 AM CT on Monday, November 17, 2025 at Brooks Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM CT on Monday, November 17, 2025 at Brooks Funeral Home with Bro. Billy Compton officiating. Burial will follow at the Munfordville Municipal Cemetery.

In Memory Of…

Jeanetta Kaye Sanders, 83, of Hardyville passed away unexpectedly, at her home on Tuesday November 11, 2025.

She was the daughter of the late Clay Trent and the late Adrine Lane Trent.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Charles Sanders and her brother Kerry Trent.

Jeanetta retired from Memorial Elementary School, after 32 years of dedicated custodial work, where she was loved by the faculty, staff, and students.

She was a die-hard and devoted University of Kentucky sports fan. Basketball, baseball, softball, football, and volleyball. She loved them all.

Jeanetta, better known as Mammaw to many, welcomed everyone into her home, treated all with kindness and love, never forgot to send out birthday cards, and she never let anyone leave her home with an empty stomach.

But her greatest love was for her children, grandchildren, and her church.

She and her late husband were founding members of Pleasant View United Baptist Church, where she remained a faithful member until the Lord called her home.

She is survived by 3 children:

Teresa Ann Estes (Junior) of Cave City. Barry Charles Sanders (Diane) of Hardyville. Karen Leigh Huff of Hardyville.

7 grandchildren:

Brandi Estes, Matthew Estes, Beth Ann Estes, Robbie Bennett, Patrick Bennett, Jerred Bennett (Alyssa), and Jonathan Sanders.

7 great grand children:

Jordyn Sanderson, Briley Sanderson, Connor Ray, Kennedy Horton, Courtlyn Murley, Phoenix Murley, Emma Jo Bennett, and Jett Bennett.

2 great-great grand children:

Emery Jade Childress and Waylon Oak Henry.

A special nephew, Chris Trent.

She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, close friends, and an extended church family.

The world is just not as bright without her in it.

The family will welcome friends from 2:00- 8:00 PM on Friday, November 14, 2025 at Brooks Funeral Home and again from 10:00 AM- 1:00 PM CT on Saturday, November 15, 2025 at Pleasant View United Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM CT on Saturday, November 15, 2025 at Pleasant View United Baptist Church with Bro. Junior Logsdon officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant View United Baptist Church Cemetery.

In Memory Of...

Dytanius “Dy” Ford, age 56, departed this life on November 5, 2025. Born to the lateMargaret “Jody” Ford and the late William “Pete” Bradley, in Glasgow, KY where he spent his formative years and touched the lives of many through his kindness, loyalty, and vibrant spirit.

Dy moved to Louisville, KY to pursue his career and became a dedicated employee at Ford Motor Company, where he was employed for 32 years. His colleagues remember him for his strong work ethic and the camaraderie he brought to the workplace. Dy was also a retired U.S. Army veteran.

A passionate motorcyclist, Dy “Pipez” was a proud member of the Rare Breed Derby Birds Motorcycle Club. He cherished the friendships, adventures, and sense of brotherhood he found within the group.

In addition to his parents, Dy is preceded in death by his stepfather, Donald Ray Ford, and his brother, Demetrius Ford. He is survived by his three sisters: Tonya Parmon of Cave City, KY, Lenida Whitlow of Glasgow, KY, and Katrina Franklin (Chris) of Glasgow, KY; sister-in-law Renea Ford of Elizabethtown, KY; aunt Denise Moore of Copley, OH; uncle Dennis Page (Brenda) of Hendersonville, TN; special friend Pamela Ford of Cave City, KY and a host of nieces and nephews. Though he did not have children of his own, Dy had very special bonds with his nieces and nephews, and his legacy will live on through them and the memories shared.

Arrangements are being handled by Brooks Funeral Home, Munfordville, KY. The family will receive friends at Owens Chapel Baptist Church, Cave City, KY from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM CST Friday, November 14, 2025 and from 10:00 AM to until time of service at 1:00PM CST Saturday, November 15, 2025. Funeral service will also be at Owens Chapel Baptist Church at 1:00 PM CST Saturday, November 15, 2025 with Doctor E.A. Duke and Rev. Dennis Page officiating. Interment will be at Horse Cave Municipal Guthrie Street Cemetery in Horse Cave, KY with military honors.

Dy will be remembered for his unwavering loyalty, adventurous spirit, and the warmth he brought to those around him. He will be deeply missed and forever cherished in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

In Memory Of...

James Edward Risen, age 75 of Canmer passed away Saturday, October 25, 2025 at his home. He retired from International Harvester and was a former employee of MSD. His favorite pastime was working on cars in the garage. He loved to hunt and fish when he was able and his dogs especially his last one, Little Bit.

He was the son of the late James Albert Risen and the late Lanora Whitaker Risen.

He is preceded in death by one brother, Richard Risen.

He is survived by three children, Brian Risen (Joyce) of Magnolia, KY, Carrie Thompson (Walker) of Elizabethtown, KY, and Sherri Bowlin (Jeff), Louisville, KY; eight grandchildren, Blake Risen (Bethany), Bryce Risen, Bailey Risen, Christian Thompson, Jacob Thompson, Ayden Thompson, Tony Cissell, and Coby Cissell; nine great-grandchildren; one brother, Danny Risen (Cyndi); two sisters, Sharon Phillips and Sandy Johnston.

The family has chosen cremation and there will be a visitation held from 1:00- 5:00 PM CT on Sunday, November 2, 2025 at Brooks Funeral Home.
