The House passed a bill to end the shutdown this evening, and it will fully end once the president signs the bill. However, our community members are still struggling to make ends meet and get food to their tables. While SNAP benefits will get released shortly after signing, there is still a food crisis occurring.
We will continue to collect food in our lobby and in the bin during the off hours through this winter to benefit our local families at One Valley Free Store in Homestead. They have seen triple the amount of folks the past 2 Saturdays, and expect a large crowd this Saturday. Thank you to all who have donated, and we look forward to sharing the love through this winter season. 🫶🏼
Update: We are still collecting through the winter months. Stop by our lobby or bin outside. 🫶🏼
