Folks, some changes in my life coming up... I have just sent this out as an email, but in case you don't get those, here are the important parts.
I really try to keep my classes non-denominational and welcoming to everyone. I feel like we can all unite in our appreciation for gentle movement, stretching, strengthening, and aging with grace. To better serve that purpose, I have taken out our closing “ohm” from the class. I don’t really have anything super nice to replace it with. I added the audible exhale with an “ah”, as that has been shown to engage your parasympathetic nervous system. Perhaps something different will come to me, but that’s it for now.
But here is another change. I have not really been public with this, as I consider this more of a personal journey. I am in the process of becoming an Orthodox Christian. Yes, there is a whole process. As you can imagine, yoga is not exactly embraced with its Hindu roots. However, our class is not really a “proper” Hindu yoga class and I have been granted permission to continue to teach, but I need to rename the class to more accurately reflect what it is. I’ve been leaning towards “Stretch and Tone” movement class, but I welcome your ideas!
The other big change, and I am still very much praying on this as I just found out, is that I am no longer able to do or teach Reiki. I don’t think this will affect many people as I’ve never really gotten my practice in Michigan here off the ground, but that is a big change for me.
The only service I am able to offer at this time is Thai Bodywork, and I hope you’ll be able to come for that at some point. I am still offering a special of $75 for a 90 minute session until the end of the year, and you can lock in that price by purchasing a gift certificate here.
