A Gala that was presented by AHEPA and the Daughters of Penelope this past Friday night at the Avalon was one of the highlights of the season. A relationship with Hospice of the Calumet Area since the hospice’s very beginning culminated in a very generous donation of $15,000 raised at the gala through these stellar organizations.
They focus on philanthropic, educational, and cultural activities, including supporting local churches, awarding scholarships, and volunteering in the community. One of their amazing creations is the Ahepa 78 Senior Apartment Community, with six complexes that have been serving NW Indiana for over thirty years.
Thank you AHEPA and Daughters of Penelope, we are very grateful that you chose HCA as this year’s gala recipient.

Our Hospice of the Calumet Area Marketing Director, Damian Rico, proudly serves on the The Salvation Army of Northwest Indiana Advisory Council. While the holiday season is a beautiful time to think about helping others through toy donations, it’s important not to overlook basic necessities, especially warm winter coats.

As the temperatures drop, the honest truth is many children in our communities face the blistery season without proper outerwear. If you are able, please consider supporting this vital need. The Salvation Army serves all of our communities and can truly benefit from your generosity.

At Hospice of the Calumet Area, we understand the power of perspective and that what we get out of life is often what we put into it. Each month, we have the privilege of connecting through coffee hours with four chambers: the Munster Chamber of Commerce - New Highland Griffith Chamber of Commerce, Lansing Area Chamber of Commerce, and Schererville Indiana Chamber of Commerce.

These gatherings are more than social moments for us. They are opportunities to be motivated and inspired by community leaders who are doing exceptional work in the business world. They allow us to share our hospice story while listening to and embracing the stories of others. We are building partnerships.

We are exceptionally grateful to be part of the strong fabric of Northwest Indiana and to celebrate the leaders who make a difference each and every day. These are leaders who truly embody what it means to be .
