In March 1990, disability rights activists left their wheelchairs and mobility devices behind to crawl up the steps of the U.S. Capitol. This powerful moment, known as the Capitol Crawl, helped bring national attention to the barriers people with disabilities faced and pushed forward the passage of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

Today, during Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month, we remember the courage and determination of those advocates whose actions helped shape a more inclusive future.

At Journeys In Community Living, that legacy continues every day. Through support, employment opportunities, and community connections, we help individuals with disabilities live, work, and thrive as independently as possible.
Because inclusion did not start overnight, and the journey continues.
