After careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to permanently close our Murfreesboro, TN location, effective April 1, 2022. We have greatly enjoyed being a part of the Murfreesboro community, and we thank you for entrusting us with your care!

Please rest assured that even though this location is closing, we are still here to help ensure you have a smooth transition of care. Our entire Murfreesboro team remains committed to serving you until we are officially closed.

What do food allergies and pet allergies have in common? They can both be problematic in a relationship.

Since we discussed pet allergies and ways to manage your allergy symptoms last week, it's time to discuss food allergies.

You might not automatically associate a food allergy as being problematic in a relationship, but what if your partner eats something containing an allergen and then kisses you? Or cooks dinner and incorporates the allergen into the food? Here are some things you can do to minimize your symptoms/flare-ups.

1. Be clear about your allergy
2. Think before you kiss - it's always a good idea to have your partner brush their teeth after eating food containing an allergen
3. Be prepared whether on a date or not - always carry your EpiPen

About 10% of the population has an allergy to pets. This is easy enough to avoid if you are one of the many who suffer from pet allergies, however, what happens when you start a relationship with someone who has a pet? Things can get tricky.

Besides removing yourself completely from the animal, there are things that you can do to help provide some relief.
1. Using a HEPA air filter
2. Using a HEPA-type vacuum cleaner
3. Non carpeted floors are preferred, but if you have carpet, frequent cleaning can help a room become more allergy-friendly
4. Designate a room as pet-free
5. The use of antihistames, prescription nasal sprays, and eye drops

We are so excited to have Molly on our team!

Help us in welcoming Molly Fortner, CRNP to the AllerVie Health Network!

Molly is a Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner, working in collaborative practice with Dr. Bruce Wolf, MD at AllerVie Health – Murfreesboro. Molly also participates in clinical research trials as a Sub-Investigator.

Originally from the Gulf Coast, Molly earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of South Alabama, and Master of Science in Nursing from Auburn University. She desires for all patients to fully understand their diagnosis to gain the confidence needed to appropriately care for their condition—many of which must be managed long-term. As a provider, Molly strives to treat patients with the utmost respect. It is important that her patients are heard and feel comfortable asking questions about their care.

Molly enjoys being an active part of her community and is involved with the state asthma camps. Outside of work, Molly enjoys exploring the outdoors with her friends. She enjoys the beach, knitting, hiking, and competing in triathlons. She lives in Nashville, TN, with her Goldendoodle, Seuss.

AllerVie Health Murfreesboro is excited to say we’re officially doing clinical trials!

Carefully conducted clinical research studies are the safest and fastest way to find treatments that work for people and new ways to improve health. These studies are conducted for various reasons, one of them being to study different ways to use standard treatments, so they will be more effective, easier to use, and/or decrease side effects.

We understand that deciding whether to participate in a clinical trial is a very personal decision, but we also want to make sure you understand why exactly clinical trials are conducted.

Now that we have officially rebranded to AllerVie Health, you'll notice a few changes to this page. One of these changes will be to the content.
