Yesterday, we said farewell to an extraordinary physician and colleague, Dr. Knox, as he celebrated his final day at MMC after 31 years of service in our Gastroenterology department.

During his career, Dr. Knox has cared for more than 48,000 patients in our community, served on countless boards, and shared his compassion and expertise with everyone around him. Beyond medicine, he is known as a true humanitarian, an active leader in his church, and a friend to so many here at MMC.

As he steps into retirement, Dr. Knox is looking forward to spending more time with his wife, Julie, their grandchildren, and cheering on his beloved UT football. You’ll also find him on the golf course or traveling to new places, enjoying the well-deserved fruits of his dedication.

We are deeply grateful for his decades of service, his wisdom, and the impact he has made on our patients and staff alike. Please join us in celebrating Dr. Knox’s remarkable career and wishing him all the best in this exciting new chapter!
