Start the School Year Strong
Kids ~ Teachers ~ Parents
Healthy tips to help you thrive this school year.
Breakfast = Brain Fuel
-> This goes for adults too!
A nourishing breakfast sets the tone for the day. Protein and healthy fats keep blood sugar stable and boost brain power. Limit carbs.
• Try smoothies with hidden superfoods like: Avocado, kale, h**p seeds, aloe vera, bee pollen, cherries, berries, mango, or pineapple
• Drink one of our tasty superfood powders: Chocolate Greens (https://borohh.com/products/chocolate-greens-powder?variant=43322339229896) , Reds and Greens (https://borohh.com/products/reds-and-greens-complete?variant=43322342408392) , or VitaGreens (https://borohh.com/products/vitagreens?variant=43322342670536) first thing in the morning.
• Take our Multivitamin and probiotic: Kidz Multi (https://borohh.com/products/kidzmulti?variant=44678648987848) , Kidz Biotic (https://borohh.com/products/kidzbiotic-gummies?variant=44125412950216)
Hydration = Cognition
Water is essential for focus, memory, and learning.
✔ Send them to school with a refillable bottle (avoid plastic)
✔ Encourage regular sips—especially during physical activity or after recess
✔ Consider adding Max Hydrate, (https://borohh.com/products/max-hydrate%E2%84%A2%EF%B8%8F?variant=44179101155528) herbal teas, or fresh juices to meet hydration goals
More Hydration Tips:
• Drink ½ your body weight in ounces
• Kids should have 4-8 oz every hour they’re awake
• It doesn't have to be straight water; Max Hydrate (https://borohh.com/products/max-hydrate%E2%84%A2%EF%B8%8F?_pos=1&_psq=max&_ss=e&_v=1.0&variant=44179101155528) , fresh juice, green powders, lemon juice or herbal teas can count as daily water intake
• Best sources: whole-house purified/Ultra Filtered, R.O., spring, or distilled water
• Avoid high alkaline water—too acidic or too alkaline disrupts gut pH
Better Sleep = Better Mood
Transitioning back to a school schedule can be rough. Reestablish a healthy sleep hygiene routine.
✔ Gradually move bedtime earlier. Aim for 10–12 hours of sleep for elementary age, 8–10 for teens and adults.
✔ Discontinue screen time 1–2 hours before bed—blue light blocks melatonin production
✔ Avoid stimulants (soda, tea, chocolate, sugar) after lunch
✔ Take a warm bath at night with Epsom salt and Bentonite clay
Natural Tools for Sleep Support:
• Essential oils - apply topically to feet or diffuse: Lavender, Serenity, cedarwood, frankincense, vetiver, bergamot
• Try Tranquil Rest (https://borohh.com/products/tranquil-rest?_pos=1&_psq=tranquil&_ss=e&_v=1.0&variant=43322342572232) , MagZen (https://borohh.com/products/magzen?_pos=1&_psq=magzen&_ss=e&_v=1.0&variant=44569015484616) , SereCope (https://borohh.com/products/serecope?_pos=1&_psq=serec&_ss=e&_v=1.0&variant=43661768687816) 30 minutes to an hour before bed
• Homeopathy: Coffea Cruda helps a restless racing mind, Hyoscamus Niger helps with fears and terror, Graphites helps with anxious thoughts at night and even bed-wetting.
AVOID synthetic sleep aids - they come with serious risks and can increase the chance of developing Alzheimer's or other cognitive issues.
Focus + Calming Tools
• Before school apply: Wild Orange, Peppermint, InTune, DigestZen, or Balance
• Take NeuroCope (https://borohh.com/products/neurocope?_pos=1&_psq=neuro&_ss=e&_v=1.0&variant=43660736463048) before school and before homework or grading papers: Neurotransmitter support with GABA, L-theanine, and Huperzine A to promote focus, calm mind, and balanced mood without drowsiness.
• After-school diffuser blends for homework time: InTune, Rosemary, Balance or Frankincense
Immune and Daily Support Supplements
Holistic First Aid Kit for School
Provide your child’s school nurse with a natural first aid kit to handle common issues naturally:
• Cuts/Scrapes/Rash: DIY Owie blend, CorrectX, Calendula cream
• Bumps/Bruise/Pain: Arnica gel or Arnica pellets, Deep Blue rub
• Tummy blend: DigestZen and Wild Orange oil
• Head tension: Headache HP or essential oil blend (peppermint, lavender and frankincense)
Suppressing every acute symptom with synthetic medicine will confuse the body’s innate immune response over time. When a symptom arises keep it simple and natural when possible.
Last, but certainly not least,
