Our office is collecting non perishable food for local food assistance programs throughout Murfreesboro and Jamaican citizens. We have 3 barrels of food going to Jamaica that will go to locals. Canned meats, dry beans, and rice are good ideas for travel. We appreciate anything to help those in need.

Todays highlight is Dr Christina Martin, O.D. She received her Doctor of Optometry cm laude from the Illinois College of Optometry in 2013 and earned her Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences with honors from Northern Illinois University. Dr. Martin provides all aspects of eye care, including the diagnosis and treatment of ocular diseases, glaucoma, contact lenses, pediatric eye exams, and surgery co-management.
Dr. Martin says as a young child she always knew she wanted to be an optometrist. Ever since she began wearing glasses in 2nd grade, she recalls that her visits to the eye doctor were her favorite doctor appointment every year.
In her time away from the office, Dr. Martin enjoys spending time with her family and friends, traveling, and staying active by participating in outdoor activities with her husband and daughters.

Eye exams aren’t just about getting an eyeglass prescription or contacts. It is so much more. Your doctor will look in the back of the eye through your pupil to check for many eye diseases, this includes high blood pressure, high cholesterol or triglycerides and diabetes just to name a few! An examination is recommended yearly! Vision loss can be prevented by staying on top of your eye health. Book your exam by calling or texting us at 615-904-9460. We would love to care for you and be a part of your health care team!

Eye health tip!!
Here are two things you CAN control to help slow down or prevent nearsightedness (myopia). Kids need to spend 1-2 hours a day outdoors. Shorten your kids time doing up close work (this means limiting the amount of time your kids are on ipads and cell phones!). Last tip: Try to get your kids to hold their books and electronics at a good distance from themselves.
Being nearsighted increases your risk of many eye diseases! Keep your kids eyes healthy!
