Charles Duane “Charlie” Stanley, 68, of Hazel, KY, passed away Sunday, May 31, 2026, at his home.

Born June 21, 1957, in Anderson, IN, Charlie was the beloved son of the late Don and Ula “Wilma” (Hendron) Stanley. He was a respected welder by trade, but enjoyed working for his son at Greenline Lawn & Landscaping for the past several years.

Charlie enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He also found joy in the open road while riding his motorcycle, but equally enjoyed recliner time with his precious pup Alley. He will be remembered for his generous heart and keen sense of humor. Charlie’s legacy of love, strength, and devotion will continue through the lives he impacted.

Those left to cherish memories of Charlie include his wife of 47 years, Cynthia June (Pelfrey) Stanley of Hazel, KY; Albert (Lisa) Pelfrey of CA, Charliene (Ray) Reynolds of Murray, KY, Charles Duane (Christi) Stanley, Jr. of Murray, KY, and Jason Daniel (Holly) of Paducah, KY; siblings, Darcy Gregory, Rachel Moore, Donetta Whitt, Tony Stanley, Kenneth Stanley, and Shanda Stanley; as well as his much loved 20 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Charlie was preceded in death by his siblings, Dora Young and David Stanley, and a grandson, Aiden Stanley.

Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, between the hours of 2:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. at Blalock-Coleman Funeral Home, 713 S. 4th St., Murray, KY 42071.

The family requests that donations, in memory of Charlie, be made to the Murray-Calloway Habitat for Humanity, 500 Main Street, Murray, KY 42071.

Mr. Paul James Matthai, 79 of New Concord, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at the Anna Mae Owen Residential Hospice House in Murray.

Born October 31, 1946, in Nashville, Tennessee, Paul was the son of the late Dr. James Paul Matthai and Dora Faye (Burt) Matthai. He was a proud graduate of Murray State University and was retired from the City of Murray Bee Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant.

Those left to cherish memories of Paul include his loving wife, Mingqin Hu of New Concord, KY; his sister, Claudia Carson of Hazel, KY; nephews, Jason (Vadessa) Carson of Kirksey, KY and Seth (Shannon) Carson of Boaz, KY; nieces, Darcie (Chris) Liddle and Rebecca (Mitch) Lily, both of Hazel, KY. Also surviving are great nieces and nephews, Ethan Carson, Elle Carson, Aiden Carson, Matthew Carson, Colby Liddle, Tanner Liddle, Tyler Lilly, and Sadie Lilly.

In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by his stepmother, Hazel Cowin Matthai.

Graveside services will be conducted Monday, May 18, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. in the Murray Memorial Gardens, Murray, KY with Sean Yang officiating. Burial will follow the service.

Friends may visit with the family after 9:00 a.m. on Monday, May 18, 2026 at the Blalock-Coleman Funeral Home, 713 S. 4th St., Murray, KY 42071.

Heather Faye (Hutson) McCarver, 48, of Mayfield, passed away Monday, May 4, 2026, at the Jackson Purchase Medical Center.

Born August 17, 1977, in Murray, Kentucky, Heather was the daughter of Joe Pat Hutson and Linda (Hill) Hutson. She was a proud graduate of Calloway County High School and Ezell’s Cosmetology School. After spending many years as a talented cosmetologist and nail technician, Heather recently followed her passion for helping others by beginning a new career as a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA-D). She worked with Bloom Behavior Therapy in the Paducah and Reidland area as a Certified Applied Behavior Analysis teacher, where she lovingly provided therapy and support to children with autism and other developmental disabilities. Her compassionate spirit and caring heart will have a lasting impact on the lives of the children she served. Heather was also a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Mayfield.

In addition to her parents, Joe Pat and Linda Hutson of Murray, Heather leaves behind her devoted husband, Shane McCarver; her children, who were truly the center of her world, Emerson Rane Grogan of Murray and Micah Shane McCarver of Mayfield; her sister, Celina Ruth Hutson of Murray; her in-laws, Richard and Shelby McCarver; and her loyal retriever, Bud David. Heather will also be deeply missed by countless friends and loved ones who will forever remember her warm heart, kind spirit, and ever-present smile.

Heather was preceded in death by her grandparents, Garlon (Uncle Willie) and Iuta (Aunt Willie) Hutson and Ben and Ruth Hill.

A service to celebrate Heather’s life will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at First Baptist Church, 118 W. South St., Mayfield, KY 42066, with Rev. Paul Wilkerson officiating.

Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the church.
