Currently an Assistant Professor at Weber State University and a PRN sonographer, Ambree brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to our team. With 4 years of teaching and several years in the radiology field, she is passionate about this profession and eager to support the USRT through active involvement.

Ambree’s diverse background includes working in hospitals, clinics, mobile imaging, and education, making her a valuable asset to our community.

✨Meet Alissa Williams our USRT Secretary. She is passionate about the imaging profession. Alissa has been a faculty member and the clinical coordinator for the Medical Radiography program at Utah Tech University since 2020. She enjoys teaching students and witnessing their growth in both knowledge and personal development. She earned her bachelors and masters degrees from Weber State University.

She is a radiologic technologist and nuclear medicine technologist. Prior to her teaching role, she had had the opportunity to work in general nuclear medicine, cardiac imaging, general radiography, and as a radiopharmaceutical sales consultant.

Serving as Secretary of the USRT has been a valuable learning experience, and she’s grateful for the opportunity to serve alongside the other board members.

Outside of work, she enjoys painting and outdoor activities. Welcome Alissa, we are lucky to have her!

✨Meet Lexie Thompson our Vice-President. She is a MSRS graduate from Weber State University and is board-certified in Radiography, CT, and MRI. She has been working at Ogden Regional Medical Center as an MRI Technologist for the past four and a half years and has been acting as the Clinical Instructor for Weber State for the past 3 years. She has enjoyed being able to help students learn in the clinical environment and has been an active member of the USRT. She has served as the Vice-President for the past 3 years and has served as one of Utah’s Delegates at the ASRT Annual Governance and House of Delegates meeting in June of 2024. During her schooling in CT and MRI, Lexie also competed on the Track and Field and Cross-Country teams for Weber State. She got two school records with one still standing today, and won multiple conference titles and became an NCAA All-American in the 10k. She is now an elite marathoner and placed 2nd at the Philadelphia Marathon in 2021 where she posted the second fastest time on the course.

She has since been taking a down-time from her running to welcome her two children who are 2.5 years and 2 months old. Lexie is very passionate for her family, athletics and her career and has loved being in the Radiology profession and enjoys being able to make a difference in people’s lives.

🌟Meet Tiera Rigby, she has stepped into her new role as our Chairman of the Board! With over 20 years in the healthcare field, primarily as a registered radiologic technologist and MRI technologist, she currently serves as the Program Director of the Medical Radiography Program at Utah Tech University, where she has been for nearly a decade. Her academic achievements include a Master’s degree from Weber State University in 2012 and a Doctor of Education from Northcentral University in 2020.

When Tiera is not immersed in her professional life, she is a proud mom of four boys who keep her on her toes! Teaching radiography is her passion and she’s given so much to the USRT in her presidential term last year. She’s dedicated to making a positive impact on our profession, our organization, and all its members! 🎉

✨Meet Kim Parkinson our 2025-2026 USRT President. She is a dedicated professional who has made significant strides in the field of radiologic sciences.

Kim earned her bachelor’s degree in MRI from WSU and went on to complete her master’s in radiologic sciences in 2019. In 2023, she proudly achieved her doctorate in Global Health Sciences from A.T. Still University.

With 15 years of experience as an MRI technologist at McKay-Dee Hospital, Kim specialized in general, cardiac, breast, and prostate imaging. For the past 7 years, she has imparted her knowledge as an educator in the associate, bachelor’s, and master’s programs in Radiology at WSU. Additionally, she serves as the co-clinical coordinator for the Four Corners Outreach and Nuclear Medicine programs.

Kim is actively involved in professional organizations, currently serving as secretary/treasurer on the Board of Directors for ACERT and now as our new USRT President.

Outside of her professional life, Kim cherishes her family—married for 33 years with three children and two grandchildren. She loves the great outdoors, enjoying hiking, paddleboarding, playing pickleball, and exploring the beautiful mountains of Utah in her side-by-side.

2 of our board members participated in the leadership academy!

Last week the 2024 ASRT Leadership Academy participants were in the ASRT office for the onsite portion of the program. The two-day event follows a six-week immersive online leadership training. Academy participants gain the skills and knowledge needed to excel as a leader at the local and national level. asrt.org/LeadershipAcademy
