🙏 Thank you to and for shining a light on Lipedema and sharing the powerful story of my beautiful patient .

A talented Puerto Rican actress, Eileen was misdiagnosed with Elephantiasis and lived with that diagnosis for six years, until she came to see me at The Roxbury Institute and finally received the answers she’d been looking for.

After treatment she finally felt more like herself, and is now set to return to the stage in November.

Just finished trekking the legendary Inca Trail to Machu Picchu with my wife Jessica, and let’s just say it was more intense than expected 😅. But every step was worth it. Peru has truly stolen our hearts with its warm people, incredible food, and breathtaking beauty. 🇵🇪✨

Huge thank you to my lovely patient for sharing this incredible milestone with us. She was able to comfortably hike through Arches, Utah! 🏜️🥾

Laura always loved hiking, but Lipedema pain made it unbearable. After her Lipedema Reduction Surgery, she was able to complete a hike she never would’ve imagined possible a year and a half ago, navigating steep rocks and rugged terrain with strength and confidence.

She’s back to doing what she loves, and my team couldn’t be more proud. Thank you for trusting us with your care! 🙏

📝 I was recently featured in Medscape Medical News in an article titled “Weight of Two Worlds: Lipo-Lymphedema and Obesity,” which highlights the story of my patient, Shannon Ashley.

For years, Shannon was dismissed by doctors who told her she was “just fat.” Unfortunately, this is something I hear far too often from patients living with Lipedema and Lipo-Lymphedema.

These conditions are still under-recognized, and that lack of awareness leads to misdiagnosis, stigma, and delayed care. This is why education and advocacy are so important.

💬 “I had my first of three surgeries with and already can see and feel a difference. I am forever grateful that I found a talented team to care for me!

I wanted to share this fantastic update from our Stage 2 Lipedema patient who shared her 4 week post-op updates, and the results are amazing to see! 🤩

She is very active and has lived with Lipedema her entire life, trying countless diets, but seeing no lasting change. Now she is thrilled to report that her lower legs no longer feel like deadweight.
