After much hard work, we are so pleased to announce that the Murray Calloway County Hospital Palliative Medicine program, headed by one of our veteran hospice RNs now Nurse Practitioner, Tonia Kelly, is now available to our community. This program will provide an exceptional addition of support and care for patients.

We are pleased to announce the development of a new Palliative Medicine program to support patients and families facing serious illness. The program focuses on improving quality of life by addressing physical, emotional, and spiritual needs at any stage of illness.

Palliative medicine is specialized care that relieves symptoms, pain, and stress related to chronic or life-limiting conditions. Unlike hospice care, it can be provided alongside curative treatment to offer additional support throughout a patient’s care journey.

Services will include symptom management, emotional and psychological support, assistance with complex medical decisions, and coordination of care among providers.

Patients and families interested in learning more about the Palliative Medicine program can contact, Tonia Kelly, MSN, RN, APRN at 270.978.1312.

Hospice care, much like a flower garden, teaches us to cherish the “now.” Each flower different and unique but equally special. As we watch flowers bloom with quiet grace, there is incredible life and dignity in every final moment. Today, we’re finding peace in the petals and celebrating the beauty of the natural cycle.

⭐️ Thank you to all the generous donations to The Foundation at Murray Calloway County Hospital that help keep our snack cart and drink cooler stocked 🦋

💙 The Foundation at Murray-Calloway County Hospital is proud to support the compassionate care provided at the Anna Mae Owen Residential Hospice House through more than $1,000 in grants to provide snacks for patients and their families.

🍪 These simple comforts can make a meaningful difference during difficult moments, offering nourishment and a small sense of home to those spending time at the Hospice House.

📸 Pictured are the dedicated Hospice House staff with the new display rack purchased by the Foundation, making snacks more visible and easily accessible for patients and visitors.

✨ Because of the generosity of our community, The Foundation is able to continue supporting programs that bring comfort, dignity, and care when it matters most.

Hospice volunteering is a quiet, powerful kind of compassion. It’s found in the gentle presence you offer, the comfort you bring to our patients and families, and the dignity you help preserve in life’s most tender moments. You step into spaces that require both courage and heart, and you do so with grace.

Thank you for being a light-for your time, your empathy, and your unwavering dedication. Because of you, no one walks this journey alone. 💜

✨ Celebrating Our Hearts in the Field: Our Hospice Volunteers ✨

At the Anna Mae Owen Residential Hospice House, our mission is to provide the best of life for the rest of life—and that mission simply wouldn't be possible without our incredible volunteers. 🦋🌸

What might seem like "small tasks"—running an errand, sitting quietly by a bedside, answering the phone or even sharing a warm smile—are actually the threads that hold our community together. These gestures offer a world of support and encouragement to:
🤍 Our Patients: Providing companionship and dignity.
🤍 Our Families: Offering a much-needed hand and a listening ear.
🤍 Our Staff: Uplifting our team with your dedication and spirit.

To our volunteers: Thank you for being so incredibly giving with your time and your hearts. You are the light in our journey! 🌟

We missed naming our Angel of the month for March but….

Have you heard the saying, “April showers bring May flowers?” The compassion and kindness our Angel of the Month pours into each patient and family she serves help nurture moments of comfort, peace, and dignity during such a vulnerable time in someone’s life.

Her gentle presence, warm smile, and genuine love for others create a sense of calm and reassurance that cannot be taught—it simply comes from who she is. Her care plants seeds of trust and connection that bloom into meaningful, lasting impact for those she serves and those who have the privilege of working alongside her.

If you haven’t caught on I’m not only talking about the month. Thank you, April, for being the sunshine after the rain and for helping beauty grow even in the most difficult seasons. 🌸

Many congratulations to you!!!

It may sound odd but we are thrilled for new (& improved) blinds for the hospice house! These blinds adjust at the click of a button and will allow our patients to control the amount of natural light they want in their room.
Huge thank you to The Foundation at Murray Calloway County Hospital for making this happen and a big thank you to Lulu's Home Trends Gallery for working with us to find the perfect combination to fit our needs ☀️ 🦋

The Foundation at Murray-Calloway County Hospital is proud to support the Anna Mae Owen Residential Hospice House with a recent grant to purchase new blinds for patient rooms.
These updates may seem simple, but they make a meaningful difference - providing added comfort, privacy, and a more peaceful environment for patients and their families during some of life’s most important moments.
We are especially grateful that part of this project was made possible through a generous contribution from Laurie Rollins with Lulu's Home Trends. Her support, along with donations from our community, helps turn needs into reality.
Because of the generosity of our donors and partners, we are able to provide grants like this that directly enhance patient care and support our healthcare teams.
We are honored to help improve the care experience at the Hospice House and remain deeply grateful for the community support that makes it all possible. 💙

🌷 There’s something so quiet and hopeful about tulips finally pushing through the soil. They remind us that even after the longest, coldest winters, life finds a way to bloom again in its own beautiful time.
Take a breath, enjoy the color, and let spring remind you that you’re blooming, too. ✨🌷
