☀️🌳 Sunshine, fresh air, and great company made for the perfect afternoon adventure! 🌳☀️

After what felt like endless rainy days, this crew was ready to soak up every minute of the beautiful weather! They decided it was time to break out of the community, head to the park, and enjoy an afternoon filled with laughter, conversation, and plenty of sunshine.

From enjoying the fresh air to making memories with friends, it was one of those simple days that reminds us how special life’s little adventures can be. There’s nothing better than good company, beautiful weather, and the freedom to get out and explore together!

Here’s to making the most of sunny days and creating moments worth smiling about. 💙

Sometimes the most meaningful acts of kindness begin with a simple conversation.

When our resident, Marcia, came to our Executive Director to share a ministry that is near and dear to her heart and asked if we could place crosses and informational cards at our front entrance, the answer was immediate: yes.

Marcia shared the story behind Wendy’s Share the Cross Ministry, a ministry created in memory of Wendy Crass Mays. After being diagnosed with breast cancer, Wendy found comfort and strength in a small wooden cross she carried with her through treatments, hospitalizations, surgery, and the many challenges she faced. Holding that cross helped her focus on her faith and trust in the Lord, bringing peace during difficult moments.

Wanting others to experience that same comfort, Wendy began sharing small olive-wood crosses from the Holy Land with people who were sick, afraid, hurting, or simply in need of encouragement. Her mission was to “Share the Cross” with others, offering a tangible reminder of God’s presence, hope, and love.

Today, visitors, residents, families, and team members will find these crosses and cards displayed on a table as they enter our community. We hope that anyone who feels led can take one for themselves or for someone they know who may need comfort, strength, prayer, or peace.

We are grateful to Marcia for bringing this beautiful ministry to Charter of Murray and for helping us continue Wendy’s legacy of faith, compassion, and caring for others. Sometimes the smallest gifts can carry the greatest message.

We are raising funds to build a safe and upgraded chicken coop and welcome chickens to our community! This meaningful addition will create opportunities for residents to engage, connect, reminisce, and experience the simple joys that animal interaction can bring each day. 🐔🌿
