A short break but we’re back at it with another Friday Feature of a fantastic doula!!
Hello! I’m Stephanie Platner, a certified birth doula serving the Salt Lake Valley and surrounding areas. My own pregnancy and birth experiences were challenging, yet wonderful, and have played a forever role in who I am as a person and as a mother!
Every birth is a deeply transformative and complex journey. As a doula, my role is to be a resource and companion during this unique time, offering personalized, comprehensive care and continuous support as you navigate the joys and challenges of bringing your baby into the world.
I support and attend births in all settings, community or out-of-hospital births will always have a special place in my heart. All three of my children were born at home with the invaluable support and guidance of midwives.
While midwives offer a full spectrum of care, their primary role is to oversee the physical health and well being of a pregnant woman and her baby. Doulas complement this care by offering our own unique expertise, experience, and support throughout pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period. Research consistently shows that the presence of a doula improves birth outcomes across all settings.
