Nurses every day go above and beyond to not only provide patients and families with excellence in clinical care but also compassion.

The DAISY Award is an international recognition program that honors and celebrates nurses for all that they do.

This month, we are proud to recognize Sawyer Wilson, RN, as our latest DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses honoree! 🌼

He was nominated by a patient during her recent visit and had this to share.

“I’ve been here 46 days...In the first week, Sawyer was my nurse. He instantly warmed my heart because he was so attentive, concerned, kind, and professional. Being a male nurse, he was very mindful of my privacy yet still did his job. He always came right back when he said he would, answered my questions, and most of all, did not pass judgment or belittle me when I deep down felt ashamed and humiliated due to being an addict at one time. When I found out he’s only been a nurse and working here since August 2024, I was shocked. I thought he’d been here for several years!”

Our Marketing and Business Development teams from Palmdale Regional Medical Center, Southwest Healthcare Inland Valley Hospital, Southwest Healthcare Rancho Springs Hospital, Temecula Valley Hospital, and Corona Regional Medical Center gathered at Palmdale Regional for strategy discussions, collaboration, and strengthening the bonds that help us serve our communities.

Sweet as honey and just as golden - the BEE Award honors those who are truly extraordinary every day! 🐝

The BEE Award recognizes Southwest Healthcare team members outside of nursing who demonstrate extraordinary behavior in their everyday activities. This can include nutrition services, a nursing assistant, technician, therapist, or environmental worker.

Marjorie Luna, a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), has been recognized as the latest BEE Award honoree! She was nominated by a patient who had this to share.

“What made me honor her was when she came to take my blood pressure, she saw I was down from talking to the doctors. She gave me a hug! A hug that reassured my care in her presence and that everything will be okay. It’s rare you get a tight loving hug from your own family, let alone my CNA Marjorie, it was so comforting that I cried. I really needed that at that moment. I’m forever grateful.”
