Two simple words: THANK YOU 🌼

Expressions of gratitude from patients and families go a long way in helping nurses cope with their high-stress work and help keep burnout at bay.

Melissa Barnett, a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), has been recognized as the latest BEE Award honoree! She was nominated by a patient, who had this to share.

“Due to changing schedules, I had not had anything to eat in over 30 hours and was not feeling well at all. Then, Melissa showed up and heard my concern! She immediately disappeared and returned stat with a turkey sandwich, fresh fruit, 2 juices, vanilla pudding, applesauce and iced tea. It felt like I had a fairy godmother at my service. This sweet lady made my day and I appreciated her love and dedication more than I can say. What a gem!"

Are you the TYPE to save a life? 🩸

About every 2 seconds, someone in the United States needs blood.

As such, January has been designated as to encourage you to give or pledge to give blood at least two or more times a year.

Blood is typically in short supply during the winter months, especially January, due to the holidays, travel schedules, inclement weather, and illness. A reduction in donor turnout can cause blood shortages around the country.
