June 17th-24th is the 44th annual National Nursing Assistants Week. Nursing Assistants go by many titles (CNA, STNA, LNA, RNA, HHA++), but they all provide hands-on care to others who need assistance with daily tasks of care.

Nursing Assistants are key players in the lives of the people in their care and they deserve a sincere ā€œThank Youā€ and recognition for their efforts and kindness to the people in their care and to their co-workers as well.

We would like to take this time to thank our Nursing Assistants for providing consistency and stability to care. We truly couldn’t do it without you!

June is Alzheimer’s & Brain Awareness Month — an opportunity to hold a conversation about the brain, and share the fact that Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias are a major public health issue. Everyone who has a brain is at risk to develop Alzheimer’s, the only leading cause of death that cannot be prevented, cured or even slowed. During the month of June, the Alzheimer’s AssociationĀ® asks people around the world to wear Purple and use their brains to fight Alzheimer’s disease.

While it is always appropriate to thank those who serve our country, let’s not confuse Memorial Day with Veteran’s Day. Today we remember those who died in service to our country.

If you have trouble telling the difference between the two holidays honoring members of our military, this video will help.

Every year in May, Older Americans Month recognizes the contributions of older adults across the nation.

While raising families and building careers, older Americans also gave back to their communities in a variety of ways. In their lifetime, times have changed and they continue to volunteer and serve their neighborhoods in their own ways. Whether they mentored child, volunteered at a soup kitchen or served their country, each one deserves recognition for their commitment.

Older Americans Month also serves to raise awareness concerning elder abuse and neglect. As we age, the risk of abuse and neglect increases. We must be sure resources are in place to protect our older population from the risks of abuse and neglect. One way is to maintain involvement in community activities and social activities. It helps to maintain our overall health and vitality.

Take part in Older Americans Month no matter what your age. Get involved and learn more by visiting oam.acl.gov.

CHANGING THE WAY you experience healthcare

Our residents and patients will be served by staff trained to meet the unique and specialized needs of each individual. State of the art technology has been interlaced throughout the facility. Mobile resident charting allows clinicians to capture data right at the bedside. Physicians can access patient information from any location on a moment’s notice. This technology allows clinicians substantially less time with administrative paperwork and more time with patients and families.

SHORT-TERM REHAB Designed specifically for ā€œpatient-centeredā€ care, we will offer an extensive range of rehabilitative services. After a stay in the hospital patients may only require shortterm rehabilitation or short-term skilled nursing care. The goal is to return home or to a residential care environment. We are dedicated to providing a ā€œculture of rehabilitationā€ for patients to maximize improvement of health and wellness.

SKILLED NURSING Our center will provide skilled nursing care and other comprehensive services to those requiring a greater level of care than that offered by assisted living facilities. With 24-hour nursing care and many of the comforts of home, we seek to balance quality care and quality of life. Promoting autonomy and choice, we will offer a variety of services, social activities, and recreational opportunities.

SERVICES This facility will be Medicare certified and equipped to provide a full range of transitional medical and rehabilitation services, including:
