To our Loma Linda University Health family, from President Richard H. Hart, MD, DrPH:
Christmas carols always take me back to my childhood in northern Idaho when our little church would go door to door singing and soliciting funds for the “poor and needy.” We called it Harvest Ingathering, which sounded about right for that time of year. There was usually snow on the ground with everyone bundled up. I can still sing most of those songs by memory.
The warm spirit that Christmas brings still lingers, and I am deeply grateful to work at Loma Linda University Health. I look each morning and evening to see that iconic star hanging on the side of the hospital and know that we are a family sharing a common commitment. While that represents a “Silent Night” long ago, today the echoes of Loma Linda University Health reverberate around the world with news of Christ’s compassion and love. Wherever our 55,000 alumni find themselves, they are part of that beacon of hope radiating out from this very special place.
Thank you for being part of our Loma Linda University Health family, as a student, staff member, faculty member, clinician, patient, or one of the many families that have been touched by our values and mission. May you find love, peace, and joy during this season of remembrance.
