Earlier this month, we shared a look at the delivery of the large 120-foot trusses—each weighing 55,000 lbs., for Harvard-Westlake High School’s new River Park sports complex.
Now, those trusses are in place, and the vision is becoming reality! marked this milestone and many others, with a team BBQ onsite, celebrating the incredible work of our crews and partners.
From heavy structural steel to custom miscellaneous metals, Muhlhauser Steel takes pride in tackling complex steel solutions safely, efficiently, and with precision. With the trusses installed, we’re excited to move into the next phase of this transformative project, which will include an aquatic center, underground parking garage, tennis courts, athletic fields and more.

We’re proud to have partnered with on the new Student Union at Southwestern College, a vibrant, multi-use space designed to be the heart of campus life.
Muhlhauser Steel provided both the structural and miscellaneous steel on this architecturally detailed project. The result is a stunning blend of form and function.
From intricate structural systems to custom fabricated architectural features, our team worked closely with the project partners to bring this student-centered vision to life. The new facility combines indoor and outdoor gathering spaces, dining areas, student services, and wellness resources — all tied together with clean lines and modern steel elements that showcase our craftsmanship.
The Student Union is more than a building, it’s a destination designed to bring students together, and we’re honored to have played a role in shaping that experience.

We had the pleasure of hosting the Orange County team of C.W. Driver Companies at our facility for an unforgettable afternoon of bonding, building and a little hands on fun.

We began with a behind-the-scenes tour of our shop, where we walked them through our fabrication process and our cutting edge machinery. We introduced them to our new technology we use to keep our customers fully informed throughout every phase of a project, from detailing and shop work to er****on in the field.

Then it was time to suit up! We gave the team a crash course in welding and torch cutting, with everyone creating their own custom piece to take home.

After that, we ended with some well-earned whiskey and wine, sharing laughs, stories, and a few competitive sparks from the welding bay.

C.W. Driver brought the energy and humor; we couldn’t have asked for a better group to host.

Thank you for spending the afternoon with us. We had a blast!

Steel in Motion
Muhlhauser Steel is currently providing both structural and miscellaneous steel for Harvard-Westlake High School’s new River Park sports complex—a transformative project that will include a gymnasium, aquatic center, and more.
One of the highlights of this project has been the installation of 120-foot-long steel trusses, each weighing approximately 55,000 pounds. Watching these massive pieces come together both in our shop and onsite has been a powerful reminder of the skill, coordination, and craftsmanship that go into every phase of our work.

At Muhlhauser Steel, we know a thing or two about whiskey, so we were thrilled to attend the Associated Subcontractors Alliance (ASA) San Diego and the Women’s Construction Coalition Whiskey & Boots event!

A big thank you to the American Subcontractors Association for bringing together professionals from across the industry. These opportunities to connect, share, and learn are what keep us growing.

Being apart of the Women’s Construction Coalition has been a rewarding experience. We’re especially grateful for the chance to engage with other women leading the way in both the steel and the construction industry.

It was a fantastic evening and a reason to dust off the boots, sample some whiskey, and have many great conversations with like minded industry leaders. We love attending events that celebrate community, connection, and craftsmanship!

At Muhlhauser Steel, community involvement is a core part of who we are.

We were honored to attend the Shea Center Gala, supporting a mission that truly resonates with our team. Earlier this year, we had the opportunity to donate materials to help repair the Center’s barn—and during our visit, we were deeply moved by the incredible work they do in therapeutic riding and equine-assisted services.

That experience led us to sponsor one of their therapy horses, Blueberry, and further strengthened our commitment to supporting their efforts.

We were proud to attend the Gala alongside our friends at DPR Construction and help raise additional funds for this inspiring organization.

Giving back to organizations like the Shea Center reminds us why strong community partnerships matter.

We had a fantastic time in Louisville for the NASCC Conference! It’s always exciting to connect with industry leaders, explore the latest innovations, and stay ahead of the curve in steel construction and technology.

Of course, no trip to Kentucky is complete without a stop along the Bourbon Trail—call it research for our Whiskey, Wine, and Welds series!

We came back from Kentucky with fresh insights, new inspiration, and yes… some incredible bourbons.

Proud to share our very own Muhlhauser Steel Bourbon Blend—a perfect pour to toast our continued growth and to share with our customers.

We love Fridays at Muhlhauser Steel. Last week we had an amazing time hosting a great group from DPR Construction. We enjoyed their company just as much as getting to sip and taste whiskey and wine. We started with a tour of the shop and then tried our hand at welding and tourching. It was a great time to connect and show our appreciation to our customers.

We truly enjoy having our customers come visit our facitily. It was an honor to have Construction at our shop to show them the progress in fabrication of our current projects together: OC Vibe and Harvard Westlake . We did a quick tour of our facility, learned the basics of welding, torching and plasma cutting, and then enjoyed some great whiskey and wine together.

Founded in 1965 in a modest shop in Norwalk, we outgrew our space and expanded to Bloomington. As our business continued to grow, we transitioned to a state-of-the-art facility in Murrieta, California, to better serve our customers and meet our increasing demand. Muhlhauser Steel is so proud to celebrate 60 years of steel this year!!! We are deeply grateful to our loyal customers and dedicated employees whose support and commitment have made this incredible milestone possible.
