One size fits all is definitely not true when it comes to hearing aides. People often come into the office asking about cost before I even know what their loss looks like, or if they even have a loss. When I recommend a hearing aid for my patient, I am looking at their type of loss, shape of loss, degree of loss, their word recognition, and speech in noise scores. This is the picture that helps me determine what I should recommend based on my patients audiogram. Another determining factor that I base my recommendation on is lifestyle. What are my patients daily activities? Do they still work? Are they retired? Are they active, or mostly sedative? It is hard to determine cost for someone when I don’t know their need. Best advice I can give is to schedule a complimentary hearing examination so we can determine the best fit for your loss and individual needs.
