Pittsburgh Center for Integrative Therapy

Pittsburgh Center for Integrative Therapy Helping you discover your path to healing. We see them as people who are looking for more, and we want to help them get there.

Our mission is to encourage individual and communal healing by staying at the forefront of the therapeutic field and offering the most up-to-date integrative therapy modalities – allowing us to provide the most effective care to every client seeking treatment. We strive to inspire integration in our client’s whole being by invigorating their brain, body, and spirit and encouraging healing across generations and communities. There are many paths to healing, and we are committed to finding the pieces that fit together for each client to help them reach their fullest sense of self. We are centered on our clients and seeing them in the fullness of their humanity–we do not see people as a diagnosis or what happened to them. We currently provided outpatient services that include individual, group, couples therapy, and EMDR Intensive Retreats. For clinicians we provide EMDRIA approved EMDR consultation, general case consultation, licensure supervision, mentorship, and continuing education opportunities.

Calling all mental/behavioral health professionals! 📣 Join me on December 6th from 9-11 AM EST for a thorough dive into understanding and treating Body-Focused Repetitive Behaviors (BFRBs) like hair pulling and skin picking.

Whether you’re new to this field or a seasoned clinician seeking fresh insights and understandings, this session is designed for you.

I prefer to keep groups small (about 10-15) to foster connection and meaningful discussion, including dedicated case consultation time/Q&A. We’ll initially focus on BFRB cases and questions, but feel free to bring any questions about anxiety, OCD, or OC spectrum cases. Time permitting, I’d be happy to provide you with feedback.

Looking forward to connecting with you!

Did you know?

After trauma, our bodies can get stuck in hyperarousal or hypervigilance.

Hyperarousal keeps us alert for danger, but it can also cause sleep issues, tension, pain, and heightened startle responses.

Understanding these effects is a crucial step towards healing.

For this Mindfulness Monday see if you can integrate moments of savoring felt progress.

We often watch clients quickly pass by moments where they say, "I used to react in x,y,z way in the past, but I didn't this time.", and not take the time to sit with that moment of growth.

It is just as important to install positive present moments like this as it is to process the negative moments from the past.

Bottom-up and top-down processing are two different ways of making sense of stimuli.

In bottom-up processing, we allow the stimulus itself to shape our perception, without any preconceived ideas.

In top-down processing, we use our background knowledge and expectations to interpret what we see.

Both are important in healing trauma and integrating our experiences.
