Perfectionism isn't just about having high standards. It's the guilt when you rest. The anxiety after small mistakes. The feeling that your best is never quite good enough.

On the outside, it can look like drive and discipline. On the inside, it often feels like exhaustion and a constant inner voice telling you to do more, do it better, do it without struggling.

If that sounds familiar, you're not alone. And it doesn't have to feel this way.

In our latest blog, we break down how perfectionism fuels high-functioning anxiety, what signs to look for, and practical strategies to start pushing back, including how therapy can help you build a different relationship with achievement, rest, and mistakes.

You don’t need permission to take care of yourself.

Self-care isn’t a reward or something that requires approval from anyone else. It’s a basic need, a way to honor your well-being, and a necessary part of living a balanced life.

Taking time for yourself doesn’t make you selfish. It allows you to show up more fully, think more clearly, and engage more meaningfully with the world around you. Your health and happiness matter just as much as anyone else’s.

💬 What’s one way you can care for yourself today without waiting for permission?

Depression goes deeper than just a feeling. Depression is a cycle that affects your thoughts, emotions, body, and behaviors.

It often starts with negative, overwhelming thoughts like “I’m useless” or “Nothing good ever happens to me.” These thoughts lead to feelings of hopelessness, guilt, and sadness, which then trigger physical symptoms such as fatigue, changes in appetite, and trouble concentrating.

As these feelings and physical symptoms intensify, it becomes harder to engage in daily life. You might withdraw from others, neglect self-care, or stop doing the activities that once brought joy. This isolation often deepens the cycle, making it feel impossible to break.

But there is a way out of this cycle.

In therapy, we’ll work on reshaping negative thoughts, addressing physical symptoms, and creating healthier coping strategies.

You don’t have to go through this alone, let’s break the cycle of depression together. 💚

Every parent has asked themselves this question: 💭

“Is this just a hard week… or is something deeper going on?”

For Children's Mental Health Acceptance Week, we're throwing it back to this clip from the Trust Me Mom podcast, where our founder Wendy McSparren breaks down the real difference between situational sadness and clinical depression in teens.

She also gets candid about one of the hardest decisions parents face: medication vs. therapy, and why there's no wrong answer, only the right support for your child.

This conversation deserves a second listen. 🎧

Conflict isn't the problem, but how we handle it is.

Most of us were never taught how to communicate well in relationships. Over time, even loving partnerships can develop patterns that leave both people feeling unheard.

This May, in honor of Mental Health Awareness Month, we're breaking down what healthy communication actually looks like, from recognizing the warning signs, to fighting fair, to knowing when couples therapy might help.

“You are allowed to take up space and prioritize your needs.” 🌟

We remind our clients every day that self-care isn’t selfish—it’s essential. Your well-being matters, and it’s okay to set boundaries, take a break, or express your needs. Prioritizing yourself allows you to show up more fully in every area of your life.

This week, we encourage you to reflect on one small way you can honor your needs. Remember, you are worthy of the space you occupy.

How will you prioritize yourself this week? Share with us below—we’d love to know how we can cheer you on! 💬

It's Children's Mental Health Acceptance Week, and this one is worth revisiting. 🔁💚

A while back, our founder Wendy McSparren sat down on the Trust Me Mom podcast and said something every parent needs to hear:

“Depression in kids doesn't always look like sadness.”

It looks like anger. Irritability. Withdrawal. Sometimes, self-injury.

Wendy also walked through the spectrum of suicidal thoughts and behaviors, and why catching the signs early can truly change a child's life.

This conversation was important then. It's even more important now.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month 🧠

We're kicking this month off with the simplest, most powerful question: How are you, really?

Not the "I'm fine" answer. The real one.

This month, we're challenging you to check in with yourself, and with someone you love. A text, a call, a walk together. It doesn't have to be big. It just has to be honest.

💚 Drop a "here" in the comments if you're showing up for your mental health this May.
