Tonight I had the honor of watching one of my first speech patients graduate high school.

Seeing how far you’ve come truly makes my heart proud. It has been such a joy to watch you grow into the amazing person you are today. So thankful I got to be a small part of your journey. You will forever hold a special spot in my heart. Speech Spot is so proud of you!

💙 It's Apraxia Awareness Day! Here's a few simple things to know about Childhood Apraxia of Speech (CAS) along with small ways families can support communication at home.

May is Apraxia Awareness Month. Childhood Apraxia of Speech (CAS) is a motor speech disorder that affects how the brain plans and coordinates the movements needed for speech.

You might notice that words come out differently each time, or that longer words feel especially hard.

CAS can also impact things like reading, learning, and social confidence, but the good news is with consistent, specialized support, children can absolutely make meaningful progress over time!

This month, we’re helping bring awareness, understanding, and support to families and our patients navigating Childhood Apraxia of Speech. 💙
