Claytor Claus has delivered the last of the cables and will be out of the workshop ‘til January 2nd. Shoals Guitar Boutique will also be closed, so plan to drop equipment off after the 1st. A huge thanks to everyone who purchased an amp, cable, had their gear modded or repaired, liked, shared, and commented on posts. I sincerely appreciate each and every one of you. This has been my favorite year doing this so far and there’s a lot more on the way. Can’t wait for 2024. Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, health and wellness to all, and to all a goodnight! ❤️

The customer requested a blend of speakers that worked well with both American and British voiced amplifiers. After trying multiple speakers, the WGS G12CS and Invader 50 ended up being the best fit.

The first batch of 20 watt tweeds have been tested, burned in, and are ready to be released into the wild. The circuit is based on a 5E3, but was reworked multiple times to obtain the lushest cleans possible without compromising any of what players love about tweed amps. Once the cleans were landed, additional tweaks were made using a variety of overdrive pedals, making the amp even more pedal friendly. The end result being balanced, responsive, and allowing the nuances of different types of overdrives to shine through.

Hey folks, I’m building amps/pedals in batches to keep from being spread thin over multiple projects. I’m about to build a batch of modified 5E3 tweed amps. If you’ve been waiting to get one, now’s the time! Let me know asap if you want one this go around. They’re $2,500. It’s $1,500 down and the remaining $1,000 once it’s finished. It comes in your choice of stained black tweed or traditional lacquered tweed. I will try to post a quick demo in the next day or so, but if you’re near The Shoals, come by Shoals Guitar Boutique and try the prototype for yourself. If you’re a 5E3 purist, or don’t prefer the mods, we’ll work it out.

Hey folks, I recently found out that the company who makes the instrument cables to the specs that I use are no longer making cables and once their current supply is depleted, that’s it for them. So, if I’m unable to find another company who makes cables to the same specs, I have no intentions of continuing to build cables for the foreseeable future.

Life is too short and there aren’t enough hours in the day not to prioritize doing what you love. I have multiple amp builds that I haven’t been able to touch since the semester started and since I’m only able to be in the shop two days a week right now, there isn’t enough time for everything. One custom build in particular is going to take a lot of time and energy upfront but once it’s rolling, my plan is to start taking in more builds, jobs modifying, revoicing, and custom tailoring existing amps to better fit an owner’s style of playing, and reassess from there.

Lastly, I’m exhausted, burned out, and need a break from a lot of things, including social media, so I’m going to be posting a ridiculous amount of backlogged posts and then disappear for a bit. I will be back eventually with some really cool updates and new content about what I’ve been working on. I appreciate every one of my friends and customers for supporting me in all of my constantly evolving endeavors. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
