I'm so glad we have representation from a variety of disciplines including:

Happy Earth Day! Want to save your health, money, and the planet all at one time? Consider making your own laundry powder!

Conventional laundry products are highly toxic and expensive. This recipe costs pennies per load ďżźand uses clean, simple ingredients!

Recipe:
👉 1/2 cup epsom salt
👉 1 1/2 cup baking soda
👉 1 1/2 cup WASHING soda (the yellow box in picture)
👉 1/4 cup sea salt
👉 20 drops essential oils of your choice (optional)

1 tablespoon for half loads; 2 tablespoons for full loads.

I put the powder directly into the drum of my front load washer and I put white vinegar in the fabric softener compartment.

And yes, even the plastic container and measuring scoop are repurposed! Reduce, reuse, recycle!

After using IM in my practice for 13+ years, I have seen the PROFOUND impact it can have on:
✅ Regulation
✅ Executive Function
✅ Learning Abilities
✅ Even Motor Skills

This play-based biofeedback tool can be used in the clinic AND at home. While IM’s traditional programming is already very powerful, my customization of IM activities makes sure the child or adult is getting the most from each and every exercise.

It’s perfectly normal to feel things such as worry, frustration, or overwhelm as we navigate life’s twists and turns. In fact, it’s that emotional activation that serves as a signal or catalyst for growth and change. And don’t think for a second that this process is reserved for only the Big Life Events. In fact, by practicing reflection with the most mundane “obstacles,” you can foster greater quality of life for your entire family.

A personal note:
Since recording this episode several months ago, I’ve had to take A LOT of my own advice. In September, I began a DEEP toxin/parasite release. It’s been life changing so far, and I’ll share more about my journey another day. What I want to share for now is how it relates to acute illness. As my body has shifted out of chronic inflammation and away from an immune system that’s always in “battle mode,” there has been a lot of recalibration. Translation: I’ve gotten sick three months in a row. It’s not convenient or comfortable but it’s my body’s way of both ridding what is not needed and resetting homeostasis. I’m grateful to have all of my strategies and perspectives in my arsenal and am even more grateful to share them with you this month.

Now for what I was originally planning to share in this post…

It’s January – is your family about to get sick? After months of holidays that have our schedules filled and our plates covered in decadence, our immune systems can be more vulnerable this time of year. And since your aspirations for 2024 probably do NOT include more sick days, Edge of the Nest brings you an episode for “Navigating Illness Naturally.”

Have a listen and find out:
✅How acute illness such as a cold or flu can actually SERVE us.
✅A long list of strategies and tools that we can use to naturally bolster our immune system and recover more quickly and comfortably when we face pathogens.
