Time to release and let go. Leave the things that no longer serve you and your next best version of yourself with the changing of the year. Use this energy of the new year to support you in your goals.
I am not one for resolutions anymore. As most don’t make it past the first month. Instead I look to this time for the year as a reflect of the things that I have accomplished this past year. What was hard and how I pushed through or shall I say grew through. And what no longer serves me. What do I want to release and leave in this year?
I use the collective energies of others using this time to make changes to support my next best version of me. Not because the current or old one was bad but because the current me and future me depends on me continuing my growth and evolution on this earth side journey. It is our job to continue to heal, grow, evolve while we are here. This is what we signed up for. It’s our job to take on that responsibility, to learn the lessons, share our light, and give back.
Over the next few days, think about your accomplishments this year big and small. Honor yourself for the badass you are, even if it’s “I got through this year through all the twists and turns”. Then reflect on what you want to leave in 2023, or another way to think of it is what do you want to release and no longer give your energy too? This process can help if you feel called to journal it. And better yet burn it! So much therapeutic release when writing and burning things.
Finally, sit in this energy. Listen to your inner guidance. What do you want out of this next year? What are your top goals to challenge yourself and grow? Is it something that is going to help you heal from what you are releasing? Is it setting healthy boundaries? Is it focusing on your health and fitness? Is it tuning up your finances? Is it completing a certification for a passion of yours or level up in your current profession? Or signing up for a class to learn something you’ve always wanted too? And how are you going to execute these goals?
Goals, speaking of. Perfect conversation to note this…Do you know what smart goals are? They are specific, measurable, achievable, REALISTIC, and timely. When setting goals, they should feel easy at first. Start small & slowly build. This is where so many start off with the odds against them with New Year’s resolutions. It’s these huge unrealistic goals that weren’t thought of if they could actually be achieved in your current phase of life, with your current responsibilities, time allowed during the day, etc. IE I am gonna workout and get into shape and plan to hit the gym 5-6 times a week when they haven’t been doing anything before.
Smart goals example: fitness goal. Start: I am going to walk 2 times a week for 15-20 minutes over the next two weeks. I am going to walk once during the week and once on the weekend. Then schedule it on your calendar! After two weeks re-evaluate, did you hit your goal, yes or no? If yes, do you and can you time wise add in another day? Then re-evaluate again in 2-3 weeks and keep up this process until you hit where your overall goal is. Then maintain that. This part of huge! If during re-evaluating, you didn’t hit your goal it’s NOT a failure! I repeat, ITS NOT A FAILURE. Ask yourself what were my barriers as to why I didn’t get there this week? Then ask over the next 2-3 weeks can I continue to do “x” aka review your goal and frequency. If yes, then repeat. AND sometimes we need to back down because of the season of life we are in. And this is OKAY! Like I said it’s not a failure. It’s a rolling lesson, re-evaluation, and recommitment of our goals.
For me my top two goals for 2024:
1. Focusing on finances because aka I got student loans and financial freedom is a huge goal in my future.
2. Fitness & Health. I want to be the strongest, best version of me physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. What we do with our body and what we consume matters to how well it works, on so many levels.
Sending you all much love and light during this season. Clear vision to see what you may have been blind to see. The strength to to what is best for you. The energy to shift for positive change. And unconditional love for yourself on this ever evolving journey here. Much blessings to you all for showing up for yourself day in and day out. And when you are having a tough moment, remember it’s only a moment in time. When you’re down, don’t forget to look up. Lean on your faith, regardless of whom or what you believe or pray too. Look within as well and know all your answers are there given by our creator, source. You are never alone on this journey. ♥️😘🙏🏼💫
