Massage Helps With Sleep!
If you're struggling with sleep, consider incorporating massage into your routine. It can be a natural and effective way to improve your sleep quality.
Massage can help improve sleep in several ways:
Stress Reduction: Massage helps reduce stress hormones like cortisol, which can interfere with sleep. Lower cortisol levels make it easier to fall asleep and stay asleep.
Muscle Relaxation: Massage helps relax muscles, reducing tension and aches that can disrupt sleep.
Improved Circulation: Massage increases blood flow, which helps deliver oxygen and nutrients to muscles and tissues, promoting relaxation and better sleep.
Increased Serotonin: Massage can increase serotonin levels, a neurotransmitter that helps regulate mood and sleep. Serotonin also helps produce melatonin, the hormone that regulates sleep-wake cycles.
Reduced Anxiety: Massage can help reduce anxiety, which can make it difficult to fall asleep.
Herbal Medicine Might Help Too!
Sedative Herbs such as German chamomile, linden, Lavender, hops, and passionflower are relaxing and are most likely to be effective against insomnia when taken at night. Hops are excellent when the mind refuses to "switch off".
Herbal sleeping pills containing combinations of valerian, hops, passionflower, and similar herbs are often helpful in overcoming mild sleep problems and in reducing feelings of anxiety and stress.
Talk to your doctor and a master herbalist before you start and herbal regime. Prescription medicine and herbal medicine can counteract each other, so please do your research by talking to a doctor, licensed pharmacist, and/or master herbalist.
