📣 Save the Date! | Weight Stigma Awareness Week 2025

Mark your calendars and make plans for how you or your organization will take part!

🗓️ This year’s Weight Stigma Awareness Week is happening September 22–26, 2025.

🚨 The theme for this year is Healing Without Harm: Ending Weight Stigma in Healthcare.

Co-hosted by Wendy Oliver-Pyatt (Within Health) and Chevese Turner (Body Equity Alliance) the members of the Collaborative of Eating Disorders Organizations are proud to take part in this important week that shines a light on the harmful impact of weight stigma and calls for change.

✨ Together, we can challenge anti-fat biases that lead to weight stigma.
✨ Together, we can create equity in care.
✨ Together, we can affirm dignity for everybody.

Stay tuned for events, resources, and ways to get involved. 💜

Events are posted on the website: www.weightstigmaawarenessweek.com. Make sure you publicize your own events and tag .

Hi friends (especially tennis friends :). I just cleared out these items from a storage shed, left over from Match Play for MiEDA, our past tennis tournament fund raisers. We do not plan to host this event again, sadly, due mostly to the lack of indoor tennis facilities here in West Michigan. So I need to dispose of these items, and I'm offering them to anyone who sees this post. I have about 45 shirts, mostly in M & L with a few S and XL mixed in; 30 blue beverage cups; and 34 glass mugs. If there are no takers I'll post to FB marketplace next. Last resort, Goodwill or Dibs. Pickup from Jeff or I. Thanks!

Today is Advocacy Day for the Eating Disorders Coalition. 125 advocates are in Washington meeting with their US Representatives & Senators asking them to support two important pieces of legislation.

The Nutrition Care Act (H.R. 6961/S. 3010) would fix a gap in Medicare Part B coverage, which excludes individuals with eating disorders from receiving an essential component of eating disorders treatment - medical nutrition therapy.

The Kids Online Safety Act (H.R. 7891/S.1409) is a comprehensive social media platform accountability bill that seeks to address specific harms posed by platform algorithms.

You can participate virtually! Just use the links below and make your voice heard!

Today, the Eating Disorders Coalition is hosting their Advocacy Day in D.C. Couldn’t attend? Participate virtually! Tell your Members of Congress why they should support the EDC's legislative initiatives: https://bit.ly/3WolFG4.
