I believe the greatest misconception that the public holds for Chiropractic care may be not understanding just how important our nervous system is to our daily health! Our nervous system includes the brain and its network of nerves that first travel down within the spinal column and exit from between each of our 24 vertebral bones that make up our human body supporting column. Each spinal nerve exits the spinal column between the vertebral segments both left, and right; both forward and backward. The fibers forward go to our visceral organs like the heart, lungs, stomach, and those backward to the muscles of the back, arms, and legs. Our brain controls every cell, tissue, and organ in our bodies, by conducting electrical signals down the spinal cord and out through every spinal nerve. Think of the wiring from your home's electrical service panel throughout your home to every receptacle outlet and appliance. When the brain sends the controling information to your heart, and that signal is received at 100%, the heart beats rhythmically, symmetrically, and continuously, to move our blood carrying oxygen throughout the entire body. What would you suppose the outcome would be if the heart only received 40% of the brain's signal? Post your ideas!
