I have performed close to 10,000 carpal tunnel surgeries in a career that is almost 20 years now. It is my opinion that endoscopic carpal tunnel release is vastly better than the open technique. I have done it both ways, and I have learned this from actual patients.

In order to get endoscopic surgery for carpal tunnel, you need to go to a certified hand surgeon.

Ask them: Have you ever done an endoscopic carpal tunnel release?

Ask them what are the benefits and the downsides.

Educate yourself, and ask questions.

You may decide not to have surgery, wait, or try more conservative therapy for a while, but make sure that you are as well-informed as you can be.

A board-certified hand surgeon will be able to explain everything in detail with no pressure and answer every question freely and fairly.
