By the grace of the trilogy and the spirit of my momma, I am a miracle. My gratitude knows no bounds.
Since Saturday, I have made great strides :
>I am no longer on oxygen
> I finished my book “Finding Hope” and paid it forward to a pastor
>Had my first rest day on Sunday, and Steve brought Lola to visit and sat outside for the first time in several months
Monday was a struggle. I had a full blown body ache, and struggled to breathe as a result of the double pneumonia.
M-Sat I see a Speech Pathologist, Occupational Therapist, and Physical Therapist. I was concerned about the challenges, however everyone met me where my body was on that day.
I got super wide, supportive shoes that have allowed support, got compression hose, to support the massive swelling in my legs, and was challenged by my PT to stand and take steps.
Baring weight on my feet has been awful because of the major burning from the tightness.Regardless, he assisted me to stand and I took 3 sets of 6steps - Michael Jackson be warned!
Yesterday, I coughed a lot. However, when I went to dialysis (which I have T-Th-Sat), took my heating pad and the transfer tech put the heating pad behind my back and the recliner.
I was able to actually cough up some yellow sputum and suction it to clear out some of the gungkity gunk out of my lungs.
The dietician met with me with concern I needed more calories and focus on protein. Since I’ve been here, that’s what my goal has been “eating all the protein on my plate, regardless the meat (beef stroganoff, chicken, pork, beef, meatloaf, sausage, etc).
She however ordered my tray with SO MUCH FOOD, I couldn’t believe it! I have been in compliance and will continue to do so.
Yesterday, was a good day. I met the challenges head on, stood 3 sets with 6 small steps, while singing “Yankee Doodle Dandy”.
Sounds silly, but it worked.
My routine is to stay in the dining area, seated in my wheelchair, where I can take my time to eat, journal, and read. I try to stay out of my room, sitting upright to help my lungs.
When I do finally get in bed, I have to wear braces - Forrest Gump has NOTHING on me!
I live in gratitude, hope, acceptance, peace and love. I encourage others, and am driven to discover my purpose.
We all have “our story”, our individual journeys. I encourage you to take time to reconnect spiritually. I was the one who moved, the trinity has always been in my presence!
I’ll try to post updates more regularly!
Good night!🙏❤️🩹
