🎲 Another Great Game Day at StoneRidge 🎲

We were thrilled to welcome students from the ELCO School District 5th grade class back to StoneRidge for another fun-filled game day with our Independent Living residents. Friendly competition, and great conversation filled the room as residents and students sat side by side enjoying classic games and meaningful moments together.

What continues to stand out during these visits isn’t just the games themselves, but the genuine connections that form so naturally across generations. Watching stories shared, friendships sparked, and smiles exchanged is a wonderful reminder of how powerful community partnerships can be.

A huge thank you to the students for also writing letters to all the residents who participated last time.

We are so grateful to ELCO, the students, and Jen & Laurabeth, for making these intergenerational experiences possible. Days like this truly reflect the heart of our community and The StoneRidge Way 💛

🐿️ Will the groundhog see his shadow?

Our Nursing residents were pondering that very question today while creating these adorable groundhog crafts!

Fun fact: Groundhog Day is celebrated every year on February 2nd, and Punxsutawney Phil has been predicting the weather since 1887—making this tradition one that’s been going strong for over a century! Whether it’s six more weeks of winter or an early spring, the creativity, conversation, and fun made for a wonderful day. 💛

We were so thankful to welcome the ELCO School District Interact Club to StoneRidge for a fun Ice Cream Social! 🍦💛

Students spent time visiting with our Independent Living residents—sharing conversations, laughter, and simple moments of connection. There’s something truly special about different generations coming together just to chat and get to know one another.

We are incredibly grateful for this community partnership and for the kindness these students bring with them. Moments like these remind us how powerful connection can be. 💙

✨ January Themed Meal: Winter Wonderland ✨
A stunning black-and-white affair where Brandy & Ella truly pulled out all the stops. From the elegant atmosphere to the beautifully dressed tables, the entire space looked absolutely breathtaking.

Our dining team outdid themselves, creating a menu just as impressive as the setting:

Winter Wonderland Menu

• Chicken Chesapeake
• Tortellini Florentine
• Twice-Baked Mashed Potatoes
• Seasonal Vegetables
• And of course… a wonderful dessert trio.

🤗This year, thanks to the generosity of our ELCO HS student body with our Coins for a Cause drive as well as several community partners, we were able to help bring a little extra joy and support to families in need this season by packing over 250 Christmas stockings.

We were also able to make a financial donation to the ELCO Family Fund, which provides support throughout the year. We’d like to give special thanks to Bayer, SCHOTT Pharma,StoneRidge Retirement Living Communities, Inc., Sunset Outlet, St. Luke Evangelical Lutheran Church, and Flanagan, Noone & Kegerreis Dentistry for their generous donations and continued support of our students and community.

Projects like this give students the opportunity to lead with compassion, teamwork, and service. Values that truly make a difference beyond the classroom.

🖌️ “Snowscapes” were created by talented 2nd grade artists at Jackson Elementary, capturing the magic of winter through their imagination and creativity.

⛄ “Incredible Igloos” were designed by creative 1st grade artists at Fort Zeller Elementary, and they are every bit as fun and impressive as they sound!

💛 Grateful for Community Partnerships 💛
We are so grateful for our partnership with the ELCO School District. Last week, we had the pleasure of welcoming Laurabeth’s wonderful gifted class to spend time with our Independent Living residents — and it was truly an incredible intergenerational experience.

Students and residents partnered up to play games like chess, Uno, checkers, Yahtzee, and more. A few residents even played Yahtzee for the very first time and have already decided they’re starting a Yahtzee group because they had so much fun! 🎲😊

There were also some wonderful surprises that made the day even more special. We had a great-grandchild join her great-grandmother from Personal Care to play games, another grandmother whose grandchild came to participate, and even Laurabeth’s parents — who live at StoneRidge — were there playing alongside everyone. These unexpected moments added an extra layer of joy and connection.

To top it all off, the students made homemade cards for each resident, thanking them for coming — a heartfelt gesture that truly touched everyone and made the day even more meaningful. 💌

What made the experience so special was not just the games, but the conversation, relationship-building, and genuine connections that happened on all sides. Moments like these remind us how powerful intergenerational engagement can be.

A special thank you to Jenn Martin for her support and for helping set this partnership in motion. We are so thankful to ELCO, Laurabeth, and her class for bringing such joy into our community! 💛

🎶✨ We Are So Lucky at StoneRidge! ✨🎶
We are incredibly blessed as a community to have such a dedicated and wonderful group of handbell ringers — proudly known as the StoneRidge Ringers. 🔔💛

They gave us one last beautiful blast of holiday spirit with a fabulous concert they have worked so hard to prepare. The talent, commitment, and joy they share through their music is truly inspiring.
