As children return to school today in Florence county, we’re excited to share that Advanced Practice Mental Health & Wellness of SC is now offering specialized ADHD testing and evaluation for school‑aged children at all our Low‑country locations, including Georgetown, Myrtle Beach, Florence, and Loris. Our compassionate, licensed clinicians—skilled in child and adolescent behavioral health—can help identify attention concerns and guide families toward personalized care plans.

Calling All Veterans 🇺🇸
At Advanced Practice Mental Health and Wellness, we’re exploring the launch of a Peer-to-Peer Support Group designed by veterans, for veterans.

This group would be led by Benzell, a therapist on our team and a U.S. Army veteran himself. He knows the unique challenges of military life and the transition that follows — and he’s passionate about creating a safe, supportive space where veterans can connect, share, and heal together.

We’re currently gauging interest before launching.

**Who is Stephen Porges?** He's the brilliant mind who created Polyvagal Theory in 1994 - a groundbreaking approach that revolutionized how we understand the connection between our nervous system and social behavior. As a Distinguished University Scientist at the Kinsey Institute and Professor of Psychiatry at UNC Chapel Hill, Dr. Porges has transformed trauma treatment and our understanding of how we feel safe and connected.

But here's the hope: when LGBTQ+ youth have just ONE accepting adult in their life, their risk of su***de drops by 40%. At Advanced Practice Mental Health and Wellness, our owner and social worker Laura Crawford works extensively with LGBTQ+ youth and adults, providing the safe, non-judgmental space everyone deserves. We also support parents navigating this journey with their children - because family acceptance can literally be life-saving.
