Stepping into the Staff Spotlight this month is Lauren Adams! Lauren joined the Connections family in January of 2023 as an occupational therapy assistant. Once she started working here it felt like she had always been with us, she has the biggest heart and a smile to match. She moved from Gastonia, NC. Lauren graduated from Cabarrus College of Health Sciences in Concord NC and has been practicing for three years! (She is also working on finishing her undergraduate work she can go to OT school and we are all so PROUD of her!)

Her favorite thing about being in pediatrics is seeing her littles ones' confidence and skills blossom and having a sweet bond with them and their families. Her favorite memory of working in this setting is being able to see her kids achieve things they weren't sure that they would ever do, and it's a constant reminder as to why God placed her in this field.

Before falling into love with OT, she thought she might want to be a teacher and then looked into studying pharmacy. The OT world would have missed a bright spot if she had chosen to work in a pharmacy, so thankful she found OT!

Lauren lives with her older sister and her two "furbabies." Storm, her pride and joy and Boston, who is a work in progress, as he is a 70 pound rescue "puppy"). She has an older who prefers the mountains to the beach and her parents and younger brother are planning on moving and retiring down here in a few years! She is so excited to have them closer!

So...when Lauren is not at work, you can find her studying or doing homework, while she is working towards her Masters in OT! Free time is limited, but when she finds the time, she loves doing makeup for weddings and special events, spend with with her friends, read, and take her dogs to the beach.

We absolutely LOVE Lauren and her giant kind heart! Here are what some of her co-workers have said about her...
