But it also refined us.
There were moments we questioned everything; our strength, our business, our future, even ourselves.
But God was working in ways we couldn’t see yet.
This has always been more than a product.
It’s been a calling.

There was a season when our kitchen was covered in supplements.
Medical bills piling up.
Lab results we didn’t understand.
Fear quietly sitting at the table with us every single night.
I watched my husband fight for his health. I watched our finances stretch thin. And I found myself on my knees more than once, asking God to show us a way forward.
This product was born in a season of desperation, but also surrender.
And that’s why it has never been just a product.

We had no business plan.

Three young kids.
A calling we didn’t fully understand.
A lot of faith and very little certainty.
We didn’t step into this because it was easy.
We stepped into it because we felt called.
Every decision we’ve made has been rooted in one question: “Would we want this for our own children?”
If the answer isn’t yes, we simply don’t offer it.
That has always been our standard.

This didn’t start with a business plan.
It started with an answered prayer… and a kitchen counter full of mason jars.
I was a mom trying to protect my family.
Trying to make sense of health challenges.
Trying to find something I could trust, something that worked, and that my kids would willingly take that didn’t feel forced or fear-driven.
Those jars held more than elderberry syrup. They held hope, obedience and a quiet yes to something I didn’t yet understand.
I had no idea what God was building. I was just doing the next right thing.

What started out as our Founder & CEO, Jessica Lowery, sharing her story with friends, has turned into a thriving business.
It all started when Jessica found herself curled up on the floor of a doctors office waiting room, desperate for a natural alternative to relieve her flu symptoms; especially since she was pregnant at the time. Thankfully an internet search led her to discover elderberry syrup. After getting her hands on some and taking it as directed, she was back at work the very next day. Years later she felt led to share her story and belief in elderberry syrup with her friends and family, and The POWER of Elderberries was founded... a business she didn't see coming.
"As a mom and health educator who is passionate about natural alternatives, I was determined to find the best elderberry syrup for my family. After much searching, I decided that I wanted control over quality assurance, consumer safety, and taste which led me to creating my own.
Looking into the eyes of desperate mothers with sick children and witnessing the relief that my elderberry syrup was bringing to countless families, I saw no turning back. Three small children and a full-time job made production a challenge, but my husband Jake never left my side in the kitchen. While wiping away tears and listening to customer testimonials, I knew I couldn’t stop!
As I put myself in the shoes of customers knocking at my front door, I knew that if I wanted to truly pursue this business, things needed to change. Quality assurance and consumer safety was at the top of my priority list. I also knew that if I was going to continue to make elderberry syrup for others, it needed to be in retail locations for both consumer convenience and accessibility. One phone call led to another and before I knew it everything was coming together right before my eyes. God had a plan and I was faithful in trusting each next step that he guided me towards.
Things became most REAL when my husband resigned from his financial planning career and jumped wholeheartedly into the business to support my efforts, and we hired a Director of Operations to lead our production. We have been so fortunate since then to add a Director of Sales and Director of Marketing to our team who stand behind us in pursuing our mission to help more people discover The POWER of Elderberries!
I see each of our customers as family and care deeply for their health and well-being. I oversee every facet of this business to build a brand with a foundation of love, trust, integrity, honesty, and passion.
The POWER of Elderberries’ elderberry syrup has made a huge impact on the health of our own families and we cannot wait to hear how it impacts yours!
