But here's what the insurance companies and PBMs don't want patients to know: they have a choice.

8,000 pharmacies have closed in the last decade. Rite Aid went bankrupt. Walgreens is struggling. CVS is shuttering 10% of its stores. Millions of displaced patients are looking for somewhere new, and too many are settling for a screen and a shipping box instead of an actual pharmacist who knows their name.

Mail order is not the answer. Amazon Pharmacy is not the answer. The answer is already in your neighborhood.

Big Congratulations to Our Very Own – Tarmel Cumpston!

We are proud to share that our incredible pharmacy technician, Tarmel Cumpston, has been named the Oregon State Pharmacy Association’s 2025 Technician of the Year!

Tarmel has been with Myrtle Drugs since we first opened our doors in 2022, but her pharmacy career spans more than 30 years. She started back in 1994 as a pharmacy clerk, quickly moving into the technician role she has mastered ever since. For more than two decades, she has dedicated her skills to independent pharmacy, including here at Myrtle Drugs where she’s been a cornerstone of our team.

What makes Tarmel so deserving of this recognition?

✨ She is the ultimate team player - always quick to give praise and slow to take it.
