Big Congratulations to Our Very Own – Tarmel Cumpston!

We are proud to share that our incredible pharmacy technician, Tarmel Cumpston, has been named the Oregon State Pharmacy Association’s 2025 Technician of the Year!

Tarmel has been with Myrtle Drugs since we first opened our doors in 2022, but her pharmacy career spans more than 30 years. She started back in 1994 as a pharmacy clerk, quickly moving into the technician role she has mastered ever since. For more than two decades, she has dedicated her skills to independent pharmacy, including here at Myrtle Drugs where she’s been a cornerstone of our team.

What makes Tarmel so deserving of this recognition?

Oregon ranks dead last in Pharmacy access in the contiguous US - and it’s getting worse! Since 2008, we’ve lost over 200 pharmacies especially in rural and underserved areas. Those pharmacies that remain are on the brink and stretched thin - cutting staff, limiting services and struggling with medication shortages and long wait times.
