About 10 years ago (Although I wish I had known it when my children were tiny), I discovered this skill. It is why instead of saying "good job", I try to use noticing phrases. For example, " You're really working hard" or "I see you taping the bell on the floor" 💜 What noticing phrases do YOU use?

Noticing is a specific skill that is essential to encouragement and is more powerful than the most lavish praise. Noticing is describing the child's actions out loud, without judgment. It allows children to fully own their actions rather than focusing on our assessment of them.
