Why Self-Compassion Matters
Life is hard. We all face self-doubt, failure, loss, and pain. But how we relate to ourselves in these moments can make all the difference. Self-compassion isn’t self-pity or self-indulgence—it’s a powerful inner resource that increases resilience, emotional well-being, and connection with others.
A Day to Turn Inward with Kindness: On July 19, 2025, join people around the world to do something quietly radical: give yourself the same care and compassion you normally extend to others.

One of the best ways to support the children in your life is to learn how to talk with them about sexuality and sexual health. With real facts and real love.
Check out this free virtual workshop.

Our friends at Out Accountability Project are collaborating with Kim Adamski, a sexual health educator (and Q+'s very own administrative manager), on a virtual program called S*x Ed for Caregivers. This program is FREE thanks to funding from Circle Care Center! Attendees will learn best practices for teaching sexual health education to their children at all developmental stages. For more info and to register, please visit linktr.ee/kimadamski.

Join Stonington Pride this Saturday at The Ditty Bag Market and Cafe for an afternoon of self-care and community connection and support. Bring whatever craft you're working on, your fav fidget toy, a puzzle, game, or whatever brings your joy and peace.

This is open to q***r folk and those who love them (that is to say, everyone is welcome).

We will be snagging coffee or tea from our gracious host, and spending time together just vibing as a community.

The Ditty Bag is wheelchair accessible, LGBTQ+ friendly, and has various seating options available. If you have any further questions, please let us at Stonington Pride know.

Meditation: keep it simple. And know that keeping it simple is one of the best ways of partnering with your own body and brain to reduce the impact of stress on your physiology--in other words, meditation is good for your health.

Keeping it simple today with the breath.

Is your wheelchair broken or are you waiting for a replacement part? Have you been waiting for what feels like aaaaaaaages?

This summer, Connecticut passed PA 24-58 which mandates that repairs must be done within 10 days from when you call and make a request (with a few caveats). If you've been waiting longer than that, shoot an email to the CT Wheelchair Reform Coalition at: WCRepairCT@gmail.com

We'll hook you up with everything you need to file a formal complaint with the Office of the Healthcare Advocate and help you out until the process is done.

Got more questions about the timeliness law, wheelchair repair, how we're looking at this at a federal level, or anything else? Hit me up! I'll talk your ear off 😉

For anyone in need of rest this holiday: I invite you to settle in with Nidra (deep rest practice). All you need is 31 minutes in a quiet place. The app is free, the practice is simple. May your holiday be easeful.

A practice to release exhaustion... and rest into a sensation of gratitude and support. Feel the support of your inner teachers and find your way to your next best step. This recording was created in November 2023 as a ritual for Thanksgiving. This practice is in the Daring to Rest style.

We made it through another week. Rest is still important. It’s okay to continue grieving, to still feel fear, sadness, and anger. Check on your friends. Take care of yourself 💞

When you’re ready, join us in the fight for reproductive freedom for all.
