David Roma first discovered Traditional Thai Massage while on assignment piloting for a prominent communication company in the mid 1990's. Based in Bangkok, flying a private jet, David began teaching yoga within the city limits. It was then that he began to experience Thai Massage as a healing modality to the body and a blissful state of well being. David is a Nationally Certified Massage Therapist & Yoga Instructor, a member of the AMTA, THAI Healing Alliance and an Instructor at The Sunshine School of Massage in Chiang Mai, Thailand. David now offers Thai Massage Training to beginners and advanced practitioners. Thai massage was developed by Buddhist monks in Thailand as a healing modality 2500 years ago. It uses passive stretching and genture pressure along the body energy lines to increase flexibility, relieve muscle and joint tension and balance the body's energy systems. Thai massage is known as Thai yoga massage, because the therapist uses his or her hands, knees, legs and feet to move you into a series of yoga-like stretches. Thai Massage helps to relieve tension within the body and can be effectively used for pain relief. It improves the function of the lymph glands and blood circulation, balances the nervous system and clears out blocked and stagnant energy. It is appropriate for a range of musculoskeletal problems including back, neck, shoulder, hip and leg pain. The aim of Thai massage is to release toxins and waste materials from body and stimulate internal organs. A typical Thai massage lasts one and a half to two hours and the client is advised to wear loose, comfortable clothing. Thai massage is normally carried out in silence as, for the therapist, the giving of the massage is an important meditative and spiritual practice. During the massage, the client, whilst being manipulated gently and respectfully, is given the opportunity to look within and focus on the healing experience.

I sailed the Queen Mary from New York to Southampton in 1962

In 1945, the majestic RMS Queen Elizabeth sailed into New York Harbor, carrying thousands of service members returning home after the end of World War II. The ship, towering and proud, was a symbol of hope, relief, and the long-awaited return to normalcy after years of fear and sacrifice.

This incredible moment captures more than a vessel—it captures emotion: the joy of reunions, the relief of safety, and the silent pride of a generation that endured unimaginable hardships. Every face on deck told a story, every flag waving in the breeze marked a triumph of endurance and courage.

A photograph that freezes a moment of history, yet speaks to universal themes of home, family, and resilience.

“All Looks Familiar, Doesn’t It?” 📺✨

Step back for a moment and you can almost hear the soft hum of that little television in the corner, its flickering screen the centre of the universe. The fireplace crackles gently, board games lie scattered across the carpet mid-battle, and somewhere nearby sits a glass of squash waiting to be sipped between scenes. It didn’t take much to feel rich in those days — just a blanket on the floor, your favourite programme coming through in black and white, and the comforting feeling that this room held your whole world.

This wasn’t just any living room. It was the room — where laughter echoed, imaginations ran wild, and ordinary evenings quietly became lifelong memories. The furniture may have been simple and the channels few, but the warmth, the wonder, and the togetherness made it feel like the grandest place on earth.
