I loved this from Rick Hanson today:
RICK'S REFLECTION: SIMPLE THINGS
I've been hitting the gas pedal lately, zooming from one email or conference call to another. Even though I'm staying home, it seems I'm busier than ever. My inner gas tank has become a little, ah, depleted.
So I've started looking for those simple things that fill us up. Like really enjoying a swallow of juice, stepping outside to feel the cool air of morning, listening to your partner chuckle, or appreciating the birds I can see from my home office window.
Little stuff. Especially for those times when you are too tired to look around for the big stuff. It's funny: the larger the stakes in your life, the smaller the things you should look for to nourish and sustain you.
What simple things are here right now for you?
Warmly,
Rick
